Very nice, Carla! Your video was a bit like meditating :-). I have seen people on YouTube use the really small "irons" used by quilters for smaller details. I have also seen people use small amounts of wax crayons..like kids use in coloring books..but I think you would have to experiment with using large amounts of it because the formulas are very different and it might have a tendency to crack and flake off. Let us know if you try it. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, you can buy little irons for special use with wax, here in Holland too, and you can buy a special 'hot pencil' with all kind of tools. But that's expensive (if you not sure You are gonna use it a lot), I'm not rich, and I already had an old iron :)
I don't think it will flake off my little canvas, because it isn't that thick you know. If I do more with wax I'll show!
Beautiful, Carla!! Love the colors and really like what you did on canvas. I've never done this kind of work ... does it have to be sealed with something when it's finished?
Carla, this is exactly what I needed to right now. This was so relaxing to watch. These pieces don't even look like they came from this world! Thanks for teaching and sharing my dear friend.
Isn't it wonderfull what you can make with this? I like it, I did one for inspiration on a big canvas (but I don't think it will be so nice at the end as the little wax card).
Carla.. that's fantaustic... really, I love it. I've seen wax artists put a big folded clean towel next to the iron and they just drag in on the towel to clean it in between colors. That may help instead of using a paper towel; no burning the fingers. I wonder if you can use children's crayons also?
I did this before, about 20 years ago, and then I used oil pastels (in Holland we call it 'wasco') and that works fine as long as you use the right paper.
Theres somthing thats so fasinating about encaustic art my imagination runs wild look at it. The canvas is wonderful carla thanks for sharing this vidoe .
Amazing work. Love it.

Shalom Karla, interesting, but I wish to know what a "Encaustic" card is and also is wax crayon the same as oil crayons like Crayola?

The woman who did the workshop said it hasn't to be sealed, but others may think is has to be. So I don't know for sure.. :)

No not yet Mariette, but I've seen this on MDF, and that looks good to me, so wood could be a possibility too I guess. Did you try it?

That's a good idea, just an old towel :)
