@writersblock26 I know in Canada most of what we hear about the states is entirely focused on the ignorance and prejudice. I know from personal experience that most Americans are no different than most Canadians, decent people who don't wish anyone harm. That being said, republicans are America's biggest problem right now. There is a huge community of American citizens who are trying to make a difference, but for every 10 of them, there's a senator who thinks gays are an abomination.

Even if Homosexuality is a sin. Who does not sin? Where in the bible does it list out every sin and tell us which ones are the worst? Apart from the 10 commandments I can't see any. A sin is a sin. I live in a very small community, 300 people, and go to a highschool (gr.7-12) of 600 kids. Either despite or because of our low population, nobody cares about the few gays we have. It's not like we're a diverse group. All 600 students are white, and I've never known anyone who was not white for more than a passing aquantance. So, it seems like a breeding ground for discrimination, but there really is none. There aren't any real bullies at all. Amazing, really.

Therefore it was believed that men put the life into the woman and the woman was just sort of an oven. I live in a very small community, 300 people, and go to a highschool (gr.7-12) of 600 kids. Either despite or because of our low population, nobody cares about the few gays we have. It's not like we're a diverse group. All 600 students are white, and I've never known anyone who was not white for more than a passing aquantance. So, it seems like a breeding ground for discrimination, but there really is none. There aren't any real bullies at all. Amazing, really.

When I met her, she was engaged to a man, and I had no idea of her past. Now, she's out of the closet again. If your brother WAS homosexual truly, he still probably is. He may end up coming out again in the future. I'd prepare myself for this possibility if I were you, and hopefully you'll be mature enough to handle it when it happens.

I have to disagree. I don't think the young kids were gay but this term is used excessively on school grounds from 6 onwards as a tool for bullying. I feel sorry for the young kids that have died, there was so much out there for them to learn and live....
