  • love this, but hate why it was done :{

  • .a "badfish" is someone who introduces heroin to someone else for the first time you idiots, so this song IS about heroin! .dumbass's...

  • @skillz107619 you're a bad fish fool

  • 6 people need to turn their monitors back to their full upright position

  • look at all the love we've found

  • Actually teamspeaker, the tattoo was a dinosaur,,. Hence the tyinhg off the dinosaur in pool shark

  • BEST SHIRT EVER! LIVE LONG BRADLEY!

  • who gives a fuck what the song was written about? music is about the individual's interpretation of a song.. how it touches us personally. we will never fully understand the beauty and power of sublime's music. it is simply an art for us to be mystified by until we pass onto the other side and gain comprehension of everything.

  • Comment removed

  • what dvd is this from?

  • 6 people forgot they were listening to music

  • @TheHerbx

dude, it kinda is not about heroin. If he wrote the song when he was using heroin, then it quite possibly could be.

But the fact is, he wrote this song before 1990, meaning that the song is not about heroin.

    @ JoeAverage000

He wrote the song before 1990 idiot. Its not about heroin and never will be. Stop making stuff up you douchebag

  • @mikek21216 He wrote it about addiction in general I heard.

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeAverage000

he says "aint got no quarrels with god", not gaugh

  • @JoeAverage000 you couldnt be more full of shit. lol

  • It doesn't matter if this song was Bradley asking for help...It's a kick ass jam and even after all this time I still sing along to it, now with my kids...

    one Love...

  • It doesn't matter if this song was Bradley asking for help...It's a kick ass jam and even after all this time I still sing along to it, now with my kids...

    one Love...

  • FYI People.

BADFISH IS NOT ABOUT HEROIN. He wrote the song before 1990

  • @mikek21216 Do you know what the word "badfish" means? It is a heroin addict who turns others on to the drug. Before you decide to make an uneducated comment like that, research a little. Bradley is singing about his addiction.

  • @TheSpyGuy124

Maybe you should do some research before you make your self look stupid. Badfish was on their FIRST demo tape, Jah wont pay the bills, which was released around 1990. If your a sublime fan, you would know WHY he started using heroin and WHEN he started it.

For the record, a badfish is not someone who turns someone else onto heroin. That was a fake definition made up by people like you and people who think this song is about heroin. Not every song by sublime is about heroin.

  • @mikek21216 brad was doin' junk long before 1990.

  • @almightyseancore

Wrong. He started using heroin around 92'-'93. Many years after he wrote badfish. His reasoning was a "year long experiment" to help his creativity. Notice how STP and poolshark are both on their second album? Thats because HE STARTING USING HEROIN.

Stop spewing your bullshit about badfish being about heroin, because it has no relation.

  • @mikek21216 i think robbin the hood was even recorded in a dope house ur right badfish is more just about depression or drinking not heroin but when i did dope i could easly relate to badfish

  • @poolshark98

Most of robbin the hood was recorded in a crack house, Troy nowell claims that.

And according to Jim Nowell, the first time badfish was sung was to his step mom after he finished writing it in his room. (or mom) Theres no way that badfish is about heroin, it makes absolutely no sense.

  • Hell yeah, the ziggens and sublime are my favorite bands.

  • "I swim, but I guess I'd never learned" damn....such a sad yet key twist in the lyrics, one of the best covers.

  • yo where did you get this dvd

  • Why are people so retarded and think that Badfish is about is heroin addiction.

    BADFISH IS NOT ABOUT HEROIN!

just enjoy the fucking song, thats what you are supposed to do. dont feel sad, cuz theres no reason to

  • what dvd is this off of?

  • Omg this guitarist is shit. needs the do upstrokes ska style... not just strum bar chords

  • @BrennymanPage

The Ziggens are one of Brads and Sublimes biggest influence's. You should hide under a rock.

  • @BrennymanPage you are an idiot...

  • @Skate8782 Care to explain?? I still don't have to like a band's music just because they influenced another band. If I did, that would make me an idiot. Right?

Some music sounds good in some people's ears, but it's not bound to sound good in everyone's. No need to hate on that.

  • @BrennymanPage Dude, it's called a cover. You're not really supposed to play a song exactly the way it was unless you're in a cover band, and that is generally lame. By the way, this was one of Bradley's favorite bands. I've seen them a few times and they kick ass. And he only plays one bar chord, which looks like an F#.

  • I jusst downloaded this mp3 at ezmp3grab..com

  • is all those tracks on the look at all the love we found tribute dvd?

  • @kx100sublimekx100: THATS TIGHT!!

  • @Greave12 ... also Brad had a fish tattooed in his arm right on the spot where he would shoot up

  • RIP BRAD. Will never be another like you.

  • @Greave12 you moron thats not true at all!!1 hahaha fuck this site is full of retards! cheers man

  • RIP BRAD

  • When I die and go to heaven the first thing I'm goin to do is go up to god and ask where's brad then I'll ask about my family

  • @kx100sublimekx100 no you won't, cos you'll be dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @almightyseancore how is this relevant to my comment

  • @kx100sublimekx100 hahahah cool!!

  • @kx100sublimekx100 amen brother

  • @bryan I'm basing it off of Brad's friends and family in numerous interviews. They all said he started his "experiment" after 40oz to Freedom failed to gain recognition as quickly as he had hoped. This puts his initial use AFTER 40oz was released. Since Badfish was one of the band's original tracks going back almost ten years before that time...I think it's safe to say the song came before his heroin use. If you talk to anyone that knew him in the old days, they will tell you he was clean.

  • This is excellent

  • theres a few songs on 40 oz about heroin. "i was rollin from the bar, in this fucked up stolen car, oh how it hurts to be so low" "tell me why, the only thing on my mind, takes up all of my time" come on man, be for real. "i saw my best friend tonight, so don't you push me too far"

  • fucking SWEET. he even sounds like him a bit ay, beautiful song

  • he is definatly singing about heroin

  • Badfish was written before Brad even started heroin.

  • @UMfan you dont know that forsure , he couldve been an addict before sublime , or in their early days , then kicked it with liquer, then went back hard

  • i love his Star Trek shirt

  • pure dope

  • no dreads baby from VB..they are dope but way underground

  • burt suzanka made me sick

  • nice to know

  • these guys just cant sing it like bradley

  • UBAR FAN2000

  • no one notice that star trek shirt he is wearing XD

  • i think you're all wrong

  • Badfish is about Brad wanting to kick his addiction. He's asking why it had to happen so fast. Now he's stuck in this shithole of an addiction, and hes pleading for help.

"wont somebody get me off of this reef"

  • he wrote badfish is the 80's... he wasnt on heroin at all then.

  • your a dumb ass, his wife, Troy, along with all the members of the band, in a video said that song was about his heroin addiction. who ever gave him a thumbs up is also a dumb ass.

  • Im a dumb ass BAHAHAHAHA.

Just because I enjoy being correct, here it goes.

Badfish was on Jah wont Pay the bills, which was released in 1990. And Recorded in 89-90.

Anyone who knows shit, knows that Brad started his Heroin Experiment around 92 and was hooked by the time they started recording Robbin the Hood in June of 93.

    Eat shit.

  • im with him. ive been listening to sublime for 11 years, he knows what he's talking about

  • he did other drugs besides heroin, it could be about addiction in general

  • it definately wasnt about heroin, cuz he didnt become addicted to heroin til after 40 oz was released...

  • not true, becuase if you listen to alot of the song on 40 oz its about heroin, as in new song, badfish, and he did start doin heroin, he started doin it so he could right good music, hence 40 oz bein the first album that became huge for them.

    rip bradley

  • I thought the song they were talking about was poolshark....well you learn something new every day.

  • No they didn't moron, this song was written well before he did heroin. And as for bad fish being somebody that introduces somebody to heroin that's nonsense because before this song came out there was no such term. Look it up I dare you and you won't find no meaning that isn't a reference to this song. Urban Dictionary doesn't count obviously. If anything this is clearly about addiction to alcohol. If I have to explain why then everybody is dumb. You ever hear the term "Drink like a fish."?

  • Lol thumbs down? "Sublime" fans, do yourself a favor and read up. 'Tards.

  • nope. its not.

its about drugs in general. and i can back my reply with facts, scroll up,can you?

  • I know it's definitely not about heroin but to me it's more about alcohol than anything.

  • @VaperBroz and its about surfing =D

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @VaperBroz

where did you get that from? He wrote badfish before 1991 and started his addicting around 92-93.

    stop making stuff up

  • @mikek21216

i never said its about heroin. Have you ever seen the original lyrics to this song? They are displayed at The Hardrock in Hawaii in Brads lyric book.

  • @VaperBroz yo that sounds like it could be true but its not.. brad didnt start using till about 93ish.. he wrote this in like 91

  • @PoolShark228 I always thought he was just talking about addiction in general. Specifically alcohol. He was known to be pretty rowdy about that (check out Stories Tales Lies and Exaggerations, there's some pretty funny and sad moments about them on the Warped Tour). I mean the song is called Badfish. A fish is someone who drinks entirely too much. That being said this song always has, and probably always will make me tear up a bit, no matter how many thousands of times I hear it.

  • @taylorwolfbrandt i'm with you, poolshark is one of my favorites but one of the hardest to listen to too

  • @taylorwolfbrandt badfish = dopehead-alcoholic

  • @VaperBroz No, this song was realised on 40 os the freedom, in 92, brad didnt start heroin till 93. Thats why Robbin the Hoods all fucked up, (not bad, but patchy, i guess), brad didnt have an addiction in 92...

  • @MrVilliVanilla

its released before 40oz. They released it around 1990, on their first actual demo, jah wont pay the bills, but you have the idea.

Most people think that the song was released when they released the video for it, around 1997 (same time as ShS) That might be the reason why people associate this song with his heroin addiction. They are dumb asses for thinking that

  • Anyone have "rincon" from the ziggens? I haven't heard that in years.

  • frankblack is right the whole song is about trying to get off gear

  • this song is about surfing and smack, great song. i also thought this was by the ziggens, im not sure if it was but thanx dub (worded) gives mention to the ziggins.

  • it was by sublime wasnt it?

  • ya this song is by sublime, the txt in the begining explains it all

  • The song Badfish is by Sublime but it is definitely very much inspired by The Ziggens song All the Fun We Missed. Including the party sounds at the beginning and the music and melody. Sublime did the same thing with a BUNCH of their songs. They are an awesome band - one of my favorites - but they def wore their inspirations on their sleeves. A small leap and a jump from a cover band almost.

  • last sentence is pushin it a little don't ya think?

  • you play WoW by chance?

  • tread if your responding to me, yes, i used to

  • missing the point people.....it's about having connections with many generations past. Generations that seem so distant, so out dated, yet this song is a connection that they felt what we felt, that no matter how long ago, no matter what societies were like, there is a bond we experience...with these souls from many decades even centuries ago. It's deep man!

  • Okay?

  • ok thats your interpretation ,doesnt make it fact

  • its the ziggens greats hits

  • whoa WHAT I WANT THAT DVD NOW

  • ya ziggens are fuckin really good mang

  • this really sad. it was right after brad died in his memory.

  • ziggens are not a sublime cover band they were just very good friends with sublime

  • The Ziggens WROTE this song you fucker.

  • Badfish? No they didnt. It's a Sublime song that was lightly influenced by the Ziggens song Look at all the fun we missed.

  • Aw fuck.

I'm a hardcore Sublime fan, but I guess I interpreted the video wrong.

    My bad.

  • anywhere i can listen to that song? ive been looking for it

  • the ziggens werent a cover band for sublime at all they actually inspired alot of brads songs

  • hahahahaha

  • 2 pints of boos not 3

  • ya, his amazing way to make letter for songs it was so different that we use to hear in other bands. if you like sublime lot you need to hear now the band pepper, its not the same talent sublime got but this guys are starting in this age with a cool music SUBLIME STYLE

  • Slightly Stoopid are way better than Pepper and Brad signed them in fact.

  • i dont know about way better then pepper... peppers a really solid band... but yeah they are better...

  • pepper's like a "wanna be" sublime

  • no way dude. i thought the same thing when i first started listening to them but the more you listen the less they sound like sublime

  • no shit....bands in any genre sound the same...they play the same music, dumbass. are sublime wanna be bob marleys? no..is ac/dc wanna be aerosmith, no...

  • @jstcharl pepper is a joke

  • brad nowell was seriously the greatest most inspiring lyricist alive. I'm gonna miss him

  • donno bout that but great sopngs none the less

  • you know Brad would fuck you up for being a racist little pussy, and learn how to spell dumbass.

  • I'm a badfish too.

  • You probably don't even know what a badfish is.

  • what is a badfish then?

  • A "BADFISH" is someone who helps someone try heroin for the first time in So Cal slang.

  • oh right. learn something new everyday

  • please do

  • drug or alcohol abuser
