I love Kirk's guitar work and I am glad he accepted he is not the greatest vocalist and focused on the guitar. Im used to raw vocals, being an Agoraphobic Nosebleed fan but this isnt great. Also to take your argument to National level is just absurd, and shows me what you need to do to defend a not so good vocal and that goes to far. I think Crowbar has good songs but not this
@BobbyBadfingers I also think the reason Chimaira are such fan boys of Crowbar is because the vocalist in that band has the same annoying repetitive vocals all the time. Honestly just go listen to the Halls of Amenti album by Cephalic Carnage, its more interesting than this, its smarter, and the vocalist has way more diversity. Its doom but heavier and better than this and you will hear a few southern influenced riffs in there as well. Its a 19 minute masterpiece.

Honestly, I haven't liked any songs by these guys.. But The Lasting Dose just is... too beautifully haunting with it's lyrics and melody and his voice, even though ripping apart (specially on the studio version) is in key and melodic as if a demonic beast was crying and singing. Amazing stuff. This type of music inspires me to keep writing and working on music.

There's something about Kirk's voice. I've tried singing some crowbar songs, and you have to sing the pit of your stomach and your heart at the same time. It's hard to come up with something as emotional as he does.
Does he simply fuck up the lyrics like 10 times during the song, or is this some kind of live version, and he does the changes on purpose ? Some parts are completely missing, some lines are mixed with totally other ones, but anyway... it's awesome !

While solos would definitely be nice, Crowbar's sound doesn't really allow them. Guitar solos are (to me) the second most important part of a heavy metal song behind the riff, but IT'S FUCKING CROWBAR! THEY DON'T NEED NO DAMN SOLOS, THEY'RE GREAT ANYWAYS!

Forgive me for asking, but does anyone know any Crowbar songs with guitar solos? I've just discovered these guys last weekend, and haven't really had a chance to look myself, but they're looking up to be one of my favorite bands if they do (I'm one of those dudes who only listens to songs with solos). Goddamn, these guys are fucking INTENSE.
Well, I don't ONLY listen to songs with solos, just like no metalcore shit. What I mean is a song with a solo would become my favorite song of Crowbar's. I agree these guys are a great band (definitely in my top 8) and I love their sound, it'd just make them that much better, you know? I've got them on CDs in my car (what I think is the best music), and I do like them, but a solo here and there would be nice.

Most of theirs songs make me want to end my life, but in a totally good way. Depressing, yet gentle, like a 5 legged goat with 2 hearts. Man, I got to lay off the bourbon. Just enjoy sludge at it's pinnacle.

While solos would definitely be nice, Crowbar's sound doesn't really allow them. Guitar solos are (to me) the second most important part of a heavy metal song behind the riff, but IT'S FUCKING CROWBAR! THEY DON'T NEED NO DAMN SOLOS, THEY'RE GREAT ANYWAYS!

Forgive me for asking, but does anyone know any Crowbar songs with guitar solos? I've just discovered these guys last weekend, and haven't really had a chance to look myself, but they're looking up to be one of my favorite bands if they do (I'm one of those dudes who only listens to songs with solos). Well, I don't ONLY listen to songs with solos, just like no metalcore shit. What I mean is a song with a solo would become my favorite song of Crowbar's. I agree these guys are a great band (definitely in my top 8) and I love their sound, it'd just make them that much better, you know? I've got them on CDs in my car (what I think is the best music), and I do like them, but a solo here and there would be nice.
