I was present in the audience in Los Angeles on this day, this was the "Kill Uncle" tour the Forum was "Sold Out" and there was lots of excitement in the air this night we were all waiting for this Concert and to our suprise"Bowie" walks the stage with Morrissey singing this duet and the crowd went nuts from the front to the high terrace shouting and praising with pure delight. I had several friends who wanted to go and I chose John Joe M.this night i introduced his to the magic of Morrissey...

Actually this moment is so "awesome" that Morrissey quit the tour where he opened for Bowie. He was supposed to leave the stage after singing a song with Bowie and couldn't stand not being able to say goodbye to his audience. This clip sounds more like Bowie cannibalizing Morrissey.

@mantra3000 I heard Moz tell that story on some show and he said that it was "very cagey" of Bowie to do that so Moz left the tour.Any way I am from the states and have never heard that term "cagey" but I love that it sounds so funny to me.

Mozz is a ballad boy that only rocked with The Smiths & when pushed by the likes of the late rocker /producer Mick Ronson, for one album , Your Arsenal. I don't know how lyrics help people & I won't argue lyricism other than Bowies are often underated and overlooked because his musical prowess is so forward front. But Mozz ain't no Bowie!

Yeah, he's done some bad albums, but the man is probably the solo artist in rock with the most albums that are consistently regarded as genre classics. Not to say that necessarily makes him better, but he does have much more critical backing than Moz has.

omg - i was at this concert, too. and, i had a premonition. my most excellent promise. before the show started, when they were playing recorded music while the crowd was taking their seats, when they played the laughing gnome (q.v) i just had a hunch that bowie would come on stage for the encore. and he *did*. sometimes, we just *know.*

I was front row of this concert. I freaked out when I saw Bowie playing a tambourine. After the song was to be concluded Bowie looked at me and threw the tambourine he was playing. I caught it and everyone jumped on me trying to grab it. I still have it and it is signed by Morrissey and Bowie and says Los Angeles 1991. I wonder what its worth.....
