However, it was let out before the movie was released (and was even shown on a trailer for a video game) that originally it would be Palpatine toying with Windu, grabbing him by the Force and flinging him around the room, but that was cut out. What was left was the weird, duck-face smile he gives Mace when he senses Anakin's arrival to intervene. Palpatine then allowed Mace to "win."
