I live near Philadelphia and I can tell you that we have BRUTAL summers. I am friends with a girl who lived in Nevada for a couple of years and she constantly says "Nevada isn't that hot, it HOT HERE!". Of course, all I see is the 108degrees and I think what that would feel like here. Humidity rarely drops below 60% and that is pretty low. It often is in the 80 -90% humidity.

You have better weather in South CA? Man I am from Mississippi (100 deg, 98% hum), I die in CA heat. I am so used to high humidity, I cant sweat enough without it to keep me a reasonable temp.

Thats why dry air is always cooler than humid air.

I know how sweat works.. I am a BSME... heat transfer and thermodynamics are my bread and butter.

I dont sweat much in high humidity, because I am used to it. Like you say it doesnt do any good if it doesnt evaporate so your body adapts. The side effect is I dont drink or retain nearly as much water.

I go to a arid place and it evaporates quickly, so I sweat more, and I dehydrate, so I stop sweating, and overheat.

So...like I said... I cant sweat enough to keep me a reasonable temp.

I got rid of a mobile phone about 5 years ago. It's £300+ a year saving. A pay rise for a lot of people.

I can't afford to buy gold anymore. Price is too expensive. I reckon there'll be a crash in a month or 2, taking gold and silver down for a short spell, just like last Autumn(fall), then I'll buy as much as I can afford.

George, you're absolutely right. I got rid of my cell phone so I could stock up on food. I only use my work phones. I picked up a second, POS security job working nights and thank God I did before the market flooded. I've been listening to Peter Schiff for a while now so I was ahead of the curve (although everything could go belly up).

Right on my man. I grew up in a small town in Europe where barter was still the major currency for part of my infancy. Let me tell you, all the older folks said the same thing about the old days: people were poorer back in the day but everyone was much happier. Compare that to our current conditions... everyone has "everything" although everyone's miserable. Getting back to basics is sometimes exactly what we need. Just prepare yourselves mentally, the rest it easy and very natural, actually.

The Dow is at 9400, when the dow goes back down to 6500, thats when GOLD might take off, but gold may go down below $850.00, when the double dip starts to begin.

Should take a look at some of the King World News interviews here on Youtube. They have compelling arguments that show a collapse in Gold is possible. Yes, I understand the fundamentals are very strong but they point out important policy about the CDC and GOLD as a financial instrument is traded. From what they've been saying they anticipate a heavy sell off in gold. I think this will be the last sell off though. Worth looking into.
