  • The Tabloids have tried for 50 tears to dig dirt on these girls with absolutely no sucess. If anybody can find any bad ,they can,...never did !!!

  • @fordman4444 Were the tabloids really going after these girls? They were children when they started out, and the press was watching them ever since. If they even tried to do anything bad, the tabloids would have been on them in a flash.

  • Love there softer hairstyle here. How anyone could vote this song down amazes me. This was a time where these women were at there loveliest.

  • I swear to god there is no better harmony anywhere. Love the hairstyles too. ;)

  • good old days when things were as fresh and wholesome as the sisters

I sure miss those days of wearing gloves and hats to church

  • The amazing thing about the Lennons is how beautifully the overtones in their voices interlock with each other. If you are ANY sort of musician, you will pick up on this. My God, they were good!!!!

  • As different as the girls were in looks and in personality's ,there was always that extremely strong family bond that nobody could penetrate and which still goes on till today!!!!

  • @boatracer39

Yes they are all beautiful. I do however think that Diane and Janet look quite a bit alike. Peggy and Cathy completely different. There voices would be as close as you would get from angels.

  • So magical and beautiful singing.. Thanks for posting their videos..

  • I sure miss them

  • My goodness, I had almost forgotten how beautiful these ladies were. I had such a crush on these girls when I was a kid. They represented America to the world back then. Today we need more people like them representing us instead of some of the entertainers like Lindsey Lohan, Lady Gaga and Brittany Spears.

  • We took shows like this for granted, almost every night back then there was outstanding variety shows with real talent. These girls had more talent in one finger then all of todays cookie cutter idiots put together.

  • Four beautiful ladies, inside and out, with beautiful voices and beautiful feeling for whatever melody and lyrics they sing. They never just go through the motions or settle for less than perfection.

  • beautiful voices!!

  • It is so, SO nice to read all the comments for the Lennon Sisters videos and not see these lovely women referred to as bitches and hoes, as contemporary female artists are. Dear God where have the good times, people and women like these gone? This is just so beautiful!

  • Dianne has such expressive eyes as well.

  • well, they aren't hard to look at :)

  • And all natural beauty here ,no plastic surgery for these girls !!!

  • The sweetness of this song makes me weep. No words can describe it, so just listen and be grateful.

  • Heartwarming sights and sounds of days gone by!

Magnificently simple dresses making a massive statement of the beauty and femininity of these wonderful creatures!

  • I think this has to be the most beautiful song the Lennon sisters ever sang. And what's more they look like a million dollars here.

  • Glad to listen.

May be the one in Brazil that enjoy to see and listen them. Mário Guedes Brasilia.

  • real women....the days when women looked like women and men looked like men

  • You mean when women didn't look like whores and men didn't like them to look like whores, maybe. :)

  • Absolutely incomparable! What beautiful harmony! They were, and still are, so very wonderful.

  • nice!

  • Too bad there aren't any decent songs like this anymore to listen to.

  • so true

  • Since I am not part of the 60's generation, by hearing the lovely Lennons, it is like you would never knew what type of things like Vietnam, The Kennedy assasinations, The Hippies (ect) were happening in the 1960's. To beautiful!!! This is one of my favorite songs they did.

  • Pure bliss.

  • Their uncle, late ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Sr., helping launched their careers. That means Jimmy Jr. is their cousin.

  • I've have always liked the Lennon Sisters ever since I can remember. Their voices are beautiful and so are they both inside and out. I was able to meet them a few times when Ive seen them in concert. They are very talented ladies and I always thought unrated. I hope they do see these clips and read all the wonderful comments about them today. Thank you for the posting, one of their biggest and most appreciative fans. MJ

  • thanks for sharing. mankind & technology on earth keep on progressing. but, many today's singers cannot compare with Lennon Sisters. admire so much their parents.......

  • Their parents did a wonderful job of raising this family . I sure wish we had more of that today!

  • Impeccably, beautifully intertwined harmonies...very, very close (in key) but very much distinct.

Alison Krauss is the only one I can think of with as crystal-clear a voice. Can anyone think of other contemporaries with such close harmony?

  • This is truly one of the Lennon Sisters' most beautiful songs. I watched this over and over when it re-aired back in 2008.

  • Simply beautiful harmonies. Thug rap cannot compare.

  • Four beautiful ,Talented,All American,Christian Girls, almost nonexistant in todays world!

  • Don't know about other nationalities but they are Americn Girls and we're proud of them! And Yes, maybe you are on the wrong link!

  • I don't see where being a Christian or an American has anything to do with race! Poor statement to say the least! I am a Christian and an American and very proud ot it!

  • @guitarshredder920 I know !!!!!!

  • @guitarshredder920 I always hoped that there were a few Gentlemen left in this declining country of ours! Obviously this isn't one of them !!! So sad !

  • @guitarshredder920 I can tell by your statements you know nothing about these girlls...... I do !

  • @guitarshredder920 You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but you also shouldn't assume there's depravity inside. (Depravity thay you seem to be obsessed with). The tabloids have now spent more than half a century digging for dirt on these wonderful girls, and to this day they have ALWAYS come up empty.

  • @boatracer39

    You haven't found me yet.

  • @guitarshredder920 shut up and get lost u filthy idiot. please show some respect.

  • @fordman4444 Keep in mind its still show business what we see in this clip....An image was sold here....the image of that All American Christian Girl. Its not realtiy it's just good old entertainment that portraits an idol of a so called perfect world.

  • @Filmdude0 I can tell you know nothing of these girls... I do !!!

  • @Filmdude0 Show business is like every other business - it has its good and bad sides. What we see here is the best of the good side of show business, however rare it might be. I went to the same high school as these girls did, and I can tell you from personal experience that there really are all-American Christian girls who don't need to create a phony "image" for themselves. When you're as beautiful, talented, and morally straight as these girls are, all you have to do is be yourself.

  • @amateurphilosopher Well, of course I don't know these girls. But I believe for the point I wanted to make it does not matter too much. If they where genuine superwomen or little rascals, in film and tv back then they were all nice and beautiful and honest. I just wanted to throw in another view of the entertainment industy and that not everything you see is real or fact. Just believe me, I love these old clips and enjoy those very much but also like to look underneath, its just me :)

  • @Filmdude0 Unfortunately, it's not just you. So many people nowadays seem to be far more interested in "looking underneath", as you put it, than in enjoying true beauty. Up until the mid-1960's, people enjoyed good music, dressed neatly in public, and girls took pride in having a decent reputaion.. Nowadays, what passes for music is just an irritating noise, people dress like bums, and girls try to out-slut each other. Let's face it - civilization is crumbling. I wish I knew why.

  • @amateurphilosopher My opinion ist: Yes lets enjoy the good old times etc. but a great asset of today is that we are capable of looking underneath the surface...Some singers had no control over there career what so ever, forced to sing songs without liking it, getting sick, falling into depression etc. We had this in Germany. Some nice singers of the 60s had hard times once the 60s passed. I love the 60s, the music the style :) but I don't say everthing was great. Some was better, some worse.

  • @peterdaniel66 I did that because they want it that way,if you can't handle that ,then move on !!!!!

  • @peterdaniel66 Personally, I've always been an agnostic - I think that human beings are still far too ignorant to even know what a god is, much less whether or not such a being exists. However, as I've gotten older, I've realized that most religions are an important aid in helping most people know the difference between right and wrong. Yes, many religious figures have turned out to be exploiters, but overall, religion has been an important contributor to civilization (such as it is).

  • What?? They great-grandfather was hungarian?

    I didn't know that yet..o my God!:D

    Judit from Hungary

  • their mom /was/is of Mexican-American ancestory.

  • Cannot believe that Diane would be about 70 now, and Janet is 62. I have had the good fortune to know these lovely ladies since I was in elementary school with them in the mid fifties to 1960, and have had their family's friendship since then. God bless them and their entire extended family. The years have been good to them. Still beautiful in every way.

  • WOW !!!! What beauty and talent all in one package.

  • Beautiful, so different, yet so alike !

  • Now- in 2008 is the old hungarian great-grandfather wery-wery glad to hear the Lennon Sister's singing ! God bless you, dear singers ! Szijarto Erno-Hungary

  • Even though I was only 4 in '68, I remember that only old people and "squares" were watching Lawrence Welk. Thanks to YouTube, many more people are becoming acquainted with the Lennon Sisters. They were probably more underrated in their own time than they are now, because now there is no concurrent "hippie culture" to distract us from their undeniable talent. So, Lennon Sisters, if you're reading this, don't go and yank all these great videos because of "rights" and "royalties," please! Thanks

  • Correction: the showed aired in 1968, not 1967.

  • The Lennon Sisters performed one of the most beautiful renditions of this song on the Lawrence Welk Show, aired on ABC television in 1967. The entire episode promoted the 20th Century-Fox motion picture "Doctor Dolittle," with music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. The Lennon Sisters are highly underrated today. Yet their harmonies and phrasing stand the test of time and this number demonstrates their extraordinary vocalizing. To paraphrase, rare are the words and rare is talent like this.
