I like the Smashing Pumpkins better, seemingly so does Billy. In my case they evolved with each new album, so for now Machina is my favourite album, and looking forward to hear zeitgeist
corgan never disappoints live. "The Future Embrace" is an album I can listen to because the music and lyrics are true. The sales might not have been stellar, but he continues to make his music whether it sells millions or thousands. thanks billy.
i never really liked his solo album, but i saw this tour just cos its billy and i never got to see a pumpkins show, even though i didn't like the album, it was a GREAT show
"Screw sales man." Now we're talking! billy always knows what he's doing, he's just being his pure, innovative self. And that's why we love him so much.
I agree. I love all sides of Billy, however, I've always been 'partial' to the Adore/Machina ways. Therefore, I LOVED "Future Embrace".
Pretty much anything Billy does I like. He needs to keep writing music that moves his soul. When he does that it always seems to move lots of people as well. Screw sales man.
Personally, I thought his solo album was amazing. I was always more into the MCIS/Adore stuff than guitar-heavy songs like the ones on Gish. I wish I could've seen them tour... maybe I'll get the chance to after the pumpkins' new album is released.
I don't know. Corgan's sales have slipped since 1998. His solo album didn't even sell 100,000 copies and his tour was confined to smaller venues than usual. His career has taken a commercial slide but I'm glad to see he's making music for himself and not the mainstream. But I'd like to hear a hard rock album again. It's been over a decade since he made a real straightforward hard rock album.
Why is it that I want to start sing "If I was real, if I was alive would sell. Hell, could you even. Heavy metal heavy metal machines."

He definitely should've put out a DVD of the tour...I'm certain it would've sold, and helped sales of the album.
