no, really, that's the hoff. there's actually 2 guys in this scene, the one who gets all the close ups is marjoe gortner but the guy with the lightsabre is DAVID HASSELHOFF. i know it's hard to believe anything so cool could ever happen, but it did!!!

Look at 0:04 and you can clearly see both of them in the same shot. Gortner was Akton, Stella Star's (Caroline Munro) partner in crime, and "the Hoff" was Simon, son of the Emperor (Christopher Plummer).

I mean, how COULD it be the same guy fighting the droid while at the same time lying on the floor, struggling to stand up again?

Nah, this movie came out after the original Star Wars. I should know, I saw it in the freakin' theater when I was a little kid, and I thought it sucked ass. This was a European film, and Lucas' lawyers couldn't sue these guys like they sued Battlestar Galactica in the 1970s for being similar to Star Wars. But still, Hasselhoff in his first major pre-Knight Rider role, cheap Italian lightsabers, really bad spaceship (but kinetic) space battles...and Christopher Plummer, ladies and gentlemen!
