@OMG4975 he is a true olympian, dignified and gracefull. Unlike you...just a little twat with nothing better to do than diss achievements and dignity.
Whats so good about this win is he went up against a bunch of egotisticle, arragant skaters who looked at him at every event like he wasnt worthy to be around them. while fighting each other for the win they forgot about the aussie who wouldnt give up and he won. lesson = dont underestimate your apponent

I wasn't sure if i should put my arms up in celebration or go hide in the corner. But you put your hands up straight away you douchebag steven bradbury.
An Australian sporting legend - never for a second did he not deserve it, the race is on until the finish line, the others didn't make it before him, that's sport.
I have been working for the Vancouver Olympics for over a year now. On Sunday I watched Canada win the gold medal and the chaos that the city became (like nothing I have ever seen in my life).
As I was heading into the closing ceremony I bumped into Bradbury. He was very nice and acted like he was excited to see us and get a photo. I was so happy that I had an Aussie flag with me. His parents were with him and they took photos of us as well.
A real olympic fairytale. Its remarkable that a lot of such amazing storys always happen at the olympic games. It was a moment I´ll never forget......it shows that u should never give up especially if u do something u love - even if your chances seems to be very low.
Thx to God and Steven Bradbury for this miracle..he really deserved it ;-)
It's a great story. He was almost killed twice before those Olympics, yet he still had the true Aussie spirit, heart and desire to compete for his country, and he's now an Olympic Gold Medallist. Absolute legend.
nope he was taking 4th position when the fall happened, the japanese is at the 2nd position in semi final. You probaly got confused cuz their jerseys are almost the same.
I've seen him speak and he's not only humble but inspiring,he didn't get famous at all,he got noticed and he used that notability really well. Could you imagine if ohno was the one who came through first, nothing would have came out of it,champion wins, that's it .Instead this under-dog has told kids everywhere,GO FOR IT,because you never know......
great win epic tactics and awesome win aint no accident no way the front guys went to fast and agressive and the cool calm collected aussie snatched it friggin gold
was 1 of the all time epic wins in any sport young dudes would call it owned or pawnage perhaps
Apollo Anton Ohno has always been a good sport about that sort of thing...what I mean is whenever people ask him about whether he got "bumped out" or "cheated" out of a medal situation like that, he always says the same thing: "that's short track"
He was first over the line, period. He had the right strategy and it paid off. Edmond Hilary set his alarm clock and that did the job. But agree would have been better if he was eating that meat pie.
No one epitomizes that statement any better then Mr. Bradbury. As true an Olympian as there ever could be and an even truer person. Thank you for your class & dignity. You deserved this.

While I guess you can say he deserves the gold to a degree simply because he was good enough to make the final, it's absolute bullshit that he believes he deserves a Gold Medal for the 12 years he'd been involved competing in the sport. Many athletes go through their careers and have nothing to show for it at the end. This is how it should have ended for Steven.
He worked hard and was ranked top 10 for a decade, He deserved this, he was favorite in previous olympics and missed out just as appolo ohno did in thos race. he deserved to be recognised.
stop putting the gold medal on a fucking pedestal - however you see it, Bradbury completed 1000m faster than anyone else on the track, which is what a gold medal is awarded for. If the top seeded competitor took out every gold medal then I for one would be bored shitless.
I remember all the hard work & training Bradbury did while we were at high school & beyond - he deserves every bit of that gold medal and all the success he's had since :)
A hero, a legend, an inspiration. If you ever think he had it easy, you're kidding yourself. Steven deserves the Gold as much as anyone. Couldn't be prouder of him!

You don't have to be 100% Best at what you do.
But if you give it 100% effort, desire and passion it pays for itself in the long run.
Steven Bradbury was shy about taking the gold at the ceremony but in the end he did deserved his reward for the time he committed himself to a dream.
Steven Bradbury is "A Remarkable Achiever" at The highest level of anyone else that has accomplished well in any sport.
