  • Thank you so much for uploading Enescu was a true genius.

  • This is the fifth time I am listening, for 4 hours, various interpretation of this masterpiece. Heifettz, Perlman, Hahn, Menuhin, Bush and so many others. Like somebody said once: once you have eliminated all possibilites, what is left, however improbable, must be the truth. Enescu must be the reincarnation of Bach as a violin virtuoso - he cam down here to give us Bach as it was intended when writen.

  • sobie 99, Thank you for offering this magnificent performance. Enescu is not nearly well enough known, for his prodigious talent and soul.

  • You can really feel that Yahudi Minuhin was a student of Enescu, there are some parts which are played in a very similar manner.

  • He plays it in a very "modern" way. Very compelling.

  • @bourbakis Enescu's version of Chiacona of Bach is not only one of the most inspired "recording" of the "historical ricordings", but the most authentic, most inspired, most human interpretation of Bach and of Bach's Chiacona of any other interpretation of Bach in the past AND in the present at all.

  • Of all the historical Chaconne-recordings, this is one of the most inspired. I often listen to Adolf Busch, Grumiaux and the - in my opinion - unsurpassed recording by Johanna Martzy as well. But the greatest thing is to hear this music live, let us not forget that. I think what Enescu does in the free arpeggio section is very interesting. Enescu was one of the most crystal clear musical minds ever.

  • @MrSaltsaltsalt What a nice comment. Ida Haendel liked Enescu so much too^^. I recently listened to her Bach solo again. So many superb recordings...

  • It feels like the air is not needed anymore, that this music is enough to keep me alive.

  • @fganea
