@AeroFix94 I got many gaming systems here.. Some people need to test GTS250 that's why I bought that.. We bought HD6870 past week to test Black-ops. The game is finished.. but I am not totally happy with the card. Actually I am a game tester.. :)
@AeroFix94 And you know.. GTS 250 is a good card in it's class and price. I am happy with it's performance.. It can't perform like a GTX series card but it's good.
Don't worry dude my Core I7 980X with 16GB DDR3 HD5890 starts slower than this :)) My Phenom II X4 965 BE with 4GB DDR2 GTS 250 is little slower in startup when comparing with this Athlon II X2.
OS is : Windows vista ultimate SP2 DX10 32bit (1 Year old installation, Damn I am good in windows security and registry control)
I have 7 ultimate 64bit but I hate to reinstall OS. I am lazy... ;)
yea i know, i just did a build in september with this same cpu and am2 mobo and it didnt need a bios update. I just said it needed it to another guy to make sure.
I wouldn't say that at all. Would you really take an amd 240 over an e8x00 series??? I have a 240 and would definatly choose the intel option. The most important thing is the cache. 1mb (amd) versus 6/8mb (i think).
Not 7 series processor. You need is 7 series chip set to work with overdrive. ;)
My motherboard have one option to increase core voltage of CPU in my BIOS (American mega trends). I am just increased the core voltage a little to overclock my CPU.
There will not be an option like this if your motherboard is not supporting overclocking.
AMD Athlon II X2 240 is not a shitty processor at all. It have better performance than a core 2 duo 2.8 Ghz in my view.
Can you specify the games , Your PC graphics processing unit(Video card/graphics card) name and type of PC memory (DDR2/DDR3)
Memory is easy to overclock through bios. But I don't know why your CPU overclocking facilities are locked. There is some other software to overclock your CPU. Search for that.
Games, mm, i uninstalled a lot, but i play Assassin's Creed, GTA IV, Condemned, etc...
I got a GeForce 9800 GTX 512mb ddr3...
2GB Of Ram...
Ive tried every software to overclock this processor but i cant find any way to make it work...could you give me the name of any program you know that can do this ?
You can overclock you Video card using Riva tuner to improve performance. But for CPU??? AMD cpu's are not safe to overclock outside of BIOS in my view.
Which is your motherboard buddy? and BIOS provider? I feel that I can help you.
Well the gpu is easy to overclock, I do it from Evga precision, but I havent cause i dont have good cooling on my case and when its full working its from 70° to 80°...
Running fine, Games are running smoothly. video card is not an overclocked version. But I prefer NVIDIA GTX series GPU with AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor.
the HD 4870X2 is way faster than the GTS 250 dude! bad choice!

@Hankextreme hd6850 t/m hd6950 ;)

@mennogamer559 I heard the cpu would be a big bottleneck for the radeon 6850.
I am planning to overclock it ti 3.4 GHZ
Is this true ?

@Hankextreme in some games is it maby a bottelneck but it will works fine ;)

can i use this cpu on a AM2 socket motherboard?
changolucky 2 years ago
Sorry, You can't. You need AM2+ or AM3 socket.
Tutovillage 2 years ago
@Tutovillage
shure he can. i used a athlon II x2 250 with a am2 board (with BIOS update) for over 4 month
djskyle 2 years ago
Yes buddy :)
Thanks!!
Tutovillage 2 years ago
Yes, I am sorry friend. You can use AM3 CPU on AM2 or AM2+ board.
But you can't use AM2 or AM2+ CPU on an AM3 board.
Sorry.. Ignore my previous comment,
Tutovillage 2 years ago
yes but you may need a bios update.

New AM2 motherboard comes with AM3 support without BIOS

Hey, how much better is the 240 over the 250?
i mean cant u just buy the 240 and OC it up to or above 3.0Ghz, making it as fast as the 250, and save yourself $20?
cultivator23 2 years ago
Please read the video description :))
My AMD Athlon II X2 240 is already an overclocked one.
You are correct. My OC CPU is similar with 250 for sure.
I recommend this processor for medium level gamers.
Tutovillage 2 years ago
@Tutovillage
i did read it.
i was asking in case there was something very different from the 250 and an OC'ed 240
cultivator23 2 years ago
Oh ok.
Both are similar. Only difference is the core clock. There is no difference in Cache.
Tutovillage 2 years ago
does ur 240 badly bottleneck 4870x2?

Now I am using 4870X2 in my Alienware PC (Crossfire X). I bought a new 9800GTX for this PC. :)

With which Processors (AMD and Intel) could you compare the AMD Athlon ii x2 240?
Just to know which "range" they are
AcerCnR 2 years ago 3
Intel core 2 duo 3.2Ghz+
I am preparing a new clear and smoother video of windows start up and software start up speed.

Try to compare performance of Athlon II X2 240 with Intel E8x00 in games (GTA IV, GRID,FARCRY2,CRYSIS WARHEAD,SHIFT, etc..)
Here is the recom. requirmnts for GTAIV
===================================
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
See the difference..
Triple core AMD is similar to a quad core intel :)
*****This difference only in games. In applications Intel is grrrrrr *******
Don't worry I am not a big fan of AMD. I am an Intel fan. :)
Tutovillage 2 years ago
Those old phenom one's were shit if i remember correctly? I would have picked the Intel option there again lol ;P
surferstapleton 2 years ago
The compoetitor for Core 2 E8xxx series is Phenom II X2 , not Athlon II X2!!!!
octaivermatt 2 years ago
Only difference is Cache size :)

AMD arquiteture is other, amd dont need much cache L2 because of HYPERTRANSPORT

Hey man, ive been trying to overclock my 240 but nothing works...
Bios, theres no overclock section and the multiplier is locked.
AMD Overdrive, doesnt work, it says it would run if I had 7 series processor...

is the AMD Athlon II X2 240 clocked at 3ghz a core or altogether, and i know its overclocked
thomasbre1 2 years ago
Actual frequency is 2.8 Ghz. I am just overclocked that to 3.0Ghz. More better than 2.8 Ghz.
It's fast enough for money. Works well in my AM2+ socket as well as in AM3.
Tutovillage 2 years ago
1 core = 3.0Ghz. There are 2 cores.
So, the total frequency is 6.0Ghz.
