  • HAIL, HAIL TO THE EMPIRE!

  • Comment removed

  • Year of Akatosh !

  • I need Oblivion and Morrowind mod on Skyrim engin and perk system. And I need it NOW!

  • Dude...if they make a remake of this with Skyrim's gameplay elements, I will die happy.

  • final hours of my life *cue epic music* i still cant believe that this game won game of the year and is better than 99% of the shit that comes out today...oh wait i can i had 5 characters with 400 hours + on them hahaha

  • I'm so :(. I need to wait until Cristmas for Skyrim.

  • I was born 19 years ago,

    12 years ive been gaming,

But all these years, I've never been this excited for a game.

I have seen gameplay.. which no waking eye can't walk away from.

This is the 10/11/11, These are the closing days of the third ere, and the final hours till Skyrim comes out!

Which essentially my life will end.

  • @finalfantasy696969 10/11/11? ere?

  • Voice gives me goosebumps.

  • 1:08 till end. awesome.

  • @darkfirephoinix Actually, there are some differences between the two

  • Can anyone tell me what the name of the music is and DON'T say that it's reign of the Septims, cos its not!

  • @omnitrixian It actually is, this music starts in minute two of the Reign of the Septims.

  • He became emperor at 22...

  • @7nefsea that's like mid age in a medieval era.

  • Did anyone else notice the GIANT Imperial Palace Guard at 1:34?!

  • @wasdfdedf Yes XD

  • The epicness that is TES lore and music needs to be featured in a Bethesda-produced movie. They could fit in fit in the Oblivion theme for the opening, the Morrowind theme for an epic journey and the Skyrim theme for an epic battle; it's be up to them to find a way to make it not cliched but hell, they'd find a way.

  • Looks like the opening for the best fantasy movie series since Lord of the Rings

  • Is that Patrick Stewart doing the voice over?

  • @Bromthebard Yip =)

  • @echoingheads thought it sounded like Captain Picard. :)

  • Sounds like Pirate f the Carribean

  • Sorry, had to be said, but 'Oblivion Opening' sounds like a awesome name for a porn movie =P

  • i spent countless hours playing this game, its just amazing!!! And this intro makes me wanna jump out of my skin, when the music starts i go crazy

  • I hope Skyrim's opening is as epic as this

  • @560pizza you don't have to capitalize the first letter of every word you over excited freak

  • 7 people are mythic dawn .... bah ! who am i kidding ? they are just stupid ...

  • 7 people realized it was their final hours

  • Have watched this so many times, has to go down as the BEST opener to any Video Game I have seen...

  • when i got this i shit myself

  • 7 Daedra disliked this

  • 87 YEARS AGO!?!?!? He puts the queen of England to shame.

  • "These are the closing days of the 3rd era, and the final hours of my life"

    EPIC

  • The one thing oblivion did right :D

  • This is how you introduce an Elder Scrolls game.

  • @Xezr probably one of my favorite intros of all time.

  • @IMMORTALone84 same here.

  • Patrick Stewart sound's very regal.

  • the first time that i ever saw the name bethesda i thought it was pronounced be the soda

  • ENGAGE!

  • 1:33 GIANT GUARD!

  • This game is the best game on the Xbox 360 I have so far. So amazing. So epic.

  • 1:00 EPIC EPIC EPIC!!!!!

  • best game ive ever played

  • omg, i just realized patrick stewart voiced the emperor. :O

  • 1:08

  • FUCK YEAH PATRICK STEWART

  • These are the voyages of the starship Tamriel. Her continuing mission; to seek out new daedra, and new Oblivion gates, and to boldly go where no warrior has gone before!

    -Captain Jean-Luc Septim

  • i can play this song on the piano. the full version, i love this game it has amazing graphics. even morrowind has amazing graphics. this is a game ill never get tired of.

  • for 65 years he has seen the Final Frontier, these are the Voyages of Uriel Septim!

Behold, in darkness, the Borg sweeps the land!

This is Stardate 4124.5, the closing days of the 3rd Galactic Era, and the final hours of Patrick Stewart's grand acting, lol.

  • O_O Got goosebumps... just like Morrowind... only less... confusing, maybe...

  • Anyone know the day of the week of the 27th?

  • "I have seen the gates of Oblivion, beyond which no waking eye may see... here, check it out."

lol. Still one hell of a game.

  • "I have seen the gates of Oblivion, beyond which no waking eye may see... here, check it out."

lol. Still one hell of a game.

  • best rpg game love it all the way i hope they make a new one but keep the big hole map thing and more guilds and longer story and more acheviements if you play the 360 (john xSVUx) my username

  • I've started like 10 characters just to hear this!

  • 1:16

  • holy shit its like a freaking movie

  • if anyone can tell me if they are making anothe elder scrolls

  • @sharktroop SKYRIM

  • @mleppetk lol 1 year old comment

  • Comment removed

  • the music sounds like pirates of the Caribbean!

  • Has one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard. Morrowind's was great too.

  • they should make a movie out of this game...

  • I love this game so much. It's definetley my favorite.

  • 1:17 Literally shivers down my spine.

From the moment I saw this, I knew this game was going to be Epic from the start.

  • same, it is an awsome game with an awsome opener and the entire game is awsome, AWSOME JOB BETHESDA.

  • same here dude.

  • Though I've always considered Morrowind as better than Oblivion, this introduction is one of the greatest cinematic ever.

  • One of the best intros of all time.

A brilliantly in-depth game with a storyline and living breathing world schedules and dungeons that reminded me of the Ultima 7 games of old, except in amazing 3D.

HOWEVER... the worst part of the game was the Oblivion gates and towers. Doing a tower inside oblivion was like doing the same quest over and over again and again... just slightly more difficult every time... incredibly repetitive and boring after a while.

  • I actually liked the actual realm inside the gates, but I hated the incredibly repetitive towers. Otherwise, this game was flawless for what it was.

  • I liked Fallout 3 a bit more but Oblivion was epic. very very epic. Combine the two together and you get an awesomer game (I hated all those stats and things in oblivion.... yuck)

  • me and my older bro were huge fans of morrowind. and when we bought a 360 for this game i almost died at 1:00. this is hands down the best game for the 360 to date. and the best music of any game ever.

  • its a very very good game, but you should check out Assassins Creed 1 and 2, and its soundtrack its epic too...

    I like TES very musch

  • Perhaps the best intro to any video game ever. Cant wait till the next one

  • @thebeachedwhale5 perhaps.. perhaps.... could check the Assassin's Creed 2 one tho ... :D

  • @thebeachedwhale5 11/11/11 BAY-BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

  • If you look closely at the guards in this cutscene, you can see that they are actually ten feet tall. :>

A bit hard to see in this video, but in the actual cutscene, it's quite easy to see.

  • yeah its true

    at 1:34-1:35

  • Best game ever

  • @Cab0cl0 nay, best open world single player RPG though

  • @Golemoid I see you specialized your self on the Dark arts of Necromancy Argonian.

  • Is morrowind compatiblw with the 360?

  • yeah, it is, im not sure how though. try lookin it up

  • Yes and no, the GOTY Edition is not, while the original version is.

  • 1:17 to 1:25 sends shivers up my spine :D

Nice to see they put detail in, too. I liked looking at the Arcane University.

  • is there a place where I can download the music for this? it didn't apear in my folders

  • on bethesdas website!

  • thats the regular tes4 music, the one that is played in the menu screen

  • oblivion has a way bigger world that morrowind, arena has a bigger world than both, but daggerfall wins by a mile:

    15000 towns

    16000 dungeons

    750000 npcs

and it takes 2 real life week to walk across, and is 2 times the size of great britain

  • wow to much for me O.O

  • wow! I didn't know that daggerfall was THAT big!

  • dont be fooled by its size though, it got very boring for me very quickly - but i guess its from 1994.

its huge - but the world just feels so lifelss

  • I have the game :), but notice that the opening music is different then the regular title that they play..

and yes, it is lifeless isn't it? I hope bethesda does better at the 5th one

  • Looking at this and Fallout3 I can tell Elder scrolls V is going to be amazing, come on oblivian is amazing and it was made a year AGO!

BTW nice video The Music is AMAZING!

  • i love so much this game!!!...i`m addicted, i`m playing it every day :D

  • ive never played morrowind so i cant really comment on that but bethesda do make epic games. fallout 3 was amazing, from what ive heard of morrowind (such as the wandering and exploration) i really hope they incoporate that in the 5th game of tes

  • currently there are no plans on tes:5 but interplay is working on fallout online but they are bankrupt and it probably won't happen. There will be a fallout New Vegas this summer most likely its made by obsidian entertainment

  • No actually TES: V has been confirmed, just no screenshots

  • @coolbji

    TES is Bethesda, not Interplay...

  • did i say tes was interplay..... no i didnt, i was saying that a fallout online was being produced by them( not anymore cuz theyre 11m in debt) and that fallout new vegas was being made by obsidian entertainment. so suck my dick >:[]

  • oblivion has some awsome music

  • 1:04 Pirates of the Caribbean xD

  • Yeah, if it's not a coincidence, then Hans Zimmer ripped this off of the composer for this game, Jeremy Soule. It was in Morrowind, which came out before the first Pirates movie.

  • i remember the first time playing that game.

  • i hate how u see how awesome this game looks and then u have to start out in the damn sewer...but it has its benefits because u learn to use the joystick and ur way around, and then u never take for granted how beautiful cyrodill is...i miss playing...best times

  • I think it's cool how Bethesda hired Patrick Stewart for this game and Liam Neeson for Fallout 3.

  • i got lucky,i got to watch this on a high-def 42" flat screen television, and when you pump the sound up on that while watching this intro it is AMAZING.i also mostly just play shivering isels now too, since im sheogorath, only problem with shivering isles is that at end when u become sheogorath, the old sheogorath leaves forever, seriously the sheogorath in shivering isles is awesome,he's wicked funny and cool, who voices sheogorath anyway?plz tell me.

  • Graphically and so on Oblivion was better.. because its A NEW GEN. But morrowind will always be my favorite RPG, and the second is actually Oblivion :) I love bethseda

  • Both Morrowind and Oblivion were amazing, albeit in different ways. Here's to hoping the Elder Scrolls V retains Oblivion's epicness, yet gets some of that 'wandering' we had in Morrowind back. With current technology, and after seeing what Bethesda pulled of with Fallout 3, there's no telling how awesome the next one could be.

  • This was probably the best part of the game.

  • this is the epitome of total fucking epicness, when it say "these are the final hours .... of my life" then th music gets loud and awesome, that gives me goosebumbs

  • how bout this, both of them are fucking awesome

  • Yes, it's easy to get lost in Morrowind, which is brilliant. It gives that unimaginable realism that Oblivion lacks. Sure it's voiced, sure it has facial animation, but the faces look mashed to begin with. Morrowind gave you the actual felling that you are in another world, Oblivion imported a lot of stuff from our world, such as items and creatures. Oblivion's Construction Set sucks compared to Morrowind's which has a much better object control and way way way better sound control.

  • tes1 arena: classic rpg fun to play.

tes2 daggerfall: the most freedom ever in a game.

    tes3 morrowind: failure.

tes4 oblivion: best rpg ever it will last forever.

  • Wow, you make such an intelligent argument, now I am convinced! I have seen the light and the error of my ways![/sarcasm]

  • wow what a sarcastic douchebag

  • Actually, I thought I was more of a jerk.

  • Morrowind was fucking awesome.

  • i wonder what the opening for the elder scrolls V will be like

  • Oblivion's opening and tutorial are admittedly better than any previous Elder Scrolls'. As was its game engine.

  • Best Game Ever, The theme is really amazing!

  • Lol, this reminds me of LoTR.

Speaking of which... wouldn't an Oblivion-like RPG for LoTR own? I think it would !!

  • yeah, i think LoTR online is what you are thinking about, alright so its more like WoW meets LoTR but hey its still an awesome game

  • I waS born eighty-Seven yearS ago...

This guy really emphasizes his 's's doesn't he? It hurts my ears.

  • Its Patrick Stuart voicing him.

  • You must recognize that voice! That's Patrick Stuart!!! Engage.

  • Does any1 know where i can get the backgound music.

Cos morrowind has a reprise track but on the oblivion soundtrack, this aint on it??

  • Morrowind owns Oblivion. Sure the graphics is better in Oblivion, but Morrowind is a lot more challenging, creative, and bigger.

  • Hmm.. is Morrowind bigger?? Never played it

  • Morrowind lacks all that "huge living world" that Oblivion has. Sure, it's bigger. Doesn't mean that it's better. It's very easy to get lost in Morrowind, EVERYTHING is voiced in Oblivion and Oblivion makes Morrowind look like pac man.

  • Actually i'm not so sure that oblivion has a bigger world then morrowind, maybe a bit, but you could not fasttravel (unless using transportation in specific points.)

which made the world seem bigger in morrowind.

  • Morrowind is bigger

  • I recently got this game for my computer, and i love how it makes you feel like you're the hero. NO#1 RPG ever if you ask me, and #2 on my personal favorites list.

  • i luv this game with all of my heart, i give it a 10 out of 10

  • well done to partick stewart for playing the emparor

  • yaaa best game ever

  • It really is the best game ever isn't it!!!!

  • woooooooooo

  • There's an imperial guard walking in the city around 1:34 who's way out of proportion. He's nearly the size of the door.

  • i luv this game

  • What if there was an elder scrolls RTS? (an RTS is like warcraft 3 or the battle for middle earth)

  • hey..at 1:34 that guard is tall

  • yeah, if you look down on the pathway he is gaint.

  • when it crashes and goes into the view of the cyrodil i find it amazing!! oblivion best and only game i have ever played =]

  • I think oblivion left a good ending for a new elder scrolls to be focused on politics again :DD

  • Woohoo! Go Jeremy Soule soundtrack!

  • I greatly enjoy playing Elder Crack IV.

  • Close shut...the jaws...OF OBLIVION

  • a tottaly awesome game with immense gameplay and the ability to kill everyone in the game. :) my mate killed everyone in a city once but forgot to save it and jumped off a bridge lol

  • Heh, tried the same thing. I had all the houses, 1,2 mill in cash(found a glitch in the vampire quest; the count gives you the reward again and again:P), at least as much in stored items, all the deidara-items(or whatitscalled), leader of mages/fighter/thiefs guild(killed lucius when I met him, so didn't get in the black hand... But he had such a nice cloack:P)... Was plain out boring, so I decided to kill everyone in the world:P Unfortunately, my file got deleted...

  • There is also a way to get infinite money from killing a guy named Dorian in the IMperial City.

  • i killed everyone in Impereal city, then got killed by a group of blood thirsty guards

  • probly one the best openning for a game ive seen in a awhile

  • Check your facts, dude. This theme was also used in the previous game in the series, Morrowind, which came BEFORE the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and thus before Han Zimmer's theme.

  • Go Scotty, you are so right.

    ^^

Morrowind is so classic, I love the original theme.

  • I know! Hah, I remember playing morrowind for hours and hours... Don't think I got very far in the actual storyline though^^

  • morrowind was such an awesome game

i killed almost anyone I saw lol

  • Thanks for posting you got good taste Jean Luc FTW! 5 stars

  • Its Patrick Steward's voice :D YEA!!!1

  • woooooo oblivion yaaaaaaaa
