Even WITH the foam weapons... I've seen a leg dislocated... bruises COVERING the arm... some have gotten welts from it...

do you HONESTLY think we'd NOT use foam covered weapons when that happens WITH it?

(Sure the leg was dislocated not by the weapon and was really the knee but it was during the fight of it.. and the leg was hit by the weapon.. [was trapped foot, back step + weapon hit hard = dislocation])

We have a section of our rulebook dedicated to weapon construciton and safety. Because of these requirements we are able to play every week even though it is equivelent to a contact sport like soccer or football. If you would like more information please let me know.

It's nothing like football or soccer. I've been playing Amtgard for 12 years now and with the requirements we have with weapons now it's more like a kids game now. Now if we were still using first gen weapons then yeah it's close to soccer but still not even in the same ballpark. SCA is more along the lines of football and they still play every week :)
