Roy Vogt on the Bass - Said the Fox to the Hen

Took lessons from Roy for over a year. He was always helpful, constructive, unassuming, fun to be around, and far from the pompous arse that synthguitarist tries to tell you he is. He's a great guy and I consider him a friend. My guess is that synthguitarist is a bitter little person for some reason.

I have read many of Roy's comments on the TalkBass Forums. He is not only a great player, but his comments have all been helpful and far from arrogant. Furthermore his Teach Me Bass series has been a great help to thousands if not tens of thousands of bass players. He personally answers many of the questions people send him.

What positive things are you doing except knocking someone you don't even know. The guy seems like a really cool person to me.

I have seen Roy play over the years and he's a pretty awesome player. Anyone that can keep up with Stan Lassiter is impressive. Ran into him at the Return to Forever show in Nashvill last week - anything but pompous. He's a really nice guy.
