  • Thanks for sharing your talent and expertise! May I ask how long have you been doing DJ? All the best!

  • hey dude thumbs ^!! hey what is that thing u adapted to the speakers..to make it wireless.

  • did u use a sub at this event

  • @fivestardjs System that I used in the front lawn for dinner where the Tapco speakers are doesn't have a sub. Where the dancing takes place has a sub. With that system I use a single B-52 LX18 powered by a Yamaha P5000S in bridged mono.

  • I'm very interested in the wireless system that you use for the system,do you find that their is much lag, delay or interference with that system? I would be very interested in investesting in a system like that. Cheers,

    Toby.

  • @tobykuhnert1 Sorry it looks like I missed your comment until just now. If you look in my channel there is a video on this system. I can't seem to put a link here. That system worked awesome. I'm sad to say that I can't use that system anymore do to the loss of the 700mhz band. I've tried another system that works ok, but is line of sight. Now I use a shure body pack system in reverse. I hope to have a video up on that sometime soon.

  • Will sound better without the woofer grills, which obstruct about 76% of the sound

  • @generatrix999 Thanks, but do to how I use the speakers removing the grills would probably lead to some accidental damage in transport. Time restrictions on setup at most venues would prohibit the removal and reinstallation at most gigs.

  • @generatrix999 Absolute tosh!

  • i think that if you are buying a pair of 15 inch speakers that can only handle about 75 people on their own, you are wasting your money. a GOOD 15 inch speaker should be able to do a decent size venue without a sub. class d amps can be good for weight but quality of sound isnt as good as passive speakers. passive ftw! nice gig log though. it looked like fun.

  • @audiofile210 I have since used those speakers with a K-sub at parties up to 200 people with no problems.

  • @audiofile210 I've used two of these in a 200 person hall, and had no trouble filling it up. However if you're relying heavily on the low-end, you'll need to purchase a subwoofer that has a decent crossover.

  • how do u power your speaker wireless what that called and where can i buy it? running wires all the way is a pain and ive been searching for an answer on wireless power but find nothing

  • sorry for the confusion, it's only the signal that is wireless. I still have to plug the speaker in to a power source, and the wireless reciever needs power also. I am lucky at that venue there is power close to where that speaker is.

  • hey. on new years i used these speakers . their was about 100 or so people and i couldnt be happier with them .. they sound great and it was my first time and i played them for 9 hr straight

  • if i have 2 of these and 2 subs how many people u think it can handle

  • so much depends on the type of event and the room size. I will be doing a video in the next couple of days with the two Tapco Thumps and a single sub.

  • kk thasnks

  • hey mate, i have 2 mackie thumps. do you think they have TOO much bass? i used them at a party with around 80 people, i had to push them on the red limiter light ALL night, i think its time for a big subwoofer. lol

  • I don't think they have too much base, because you can use the eq on the back of the speaker to take some out if needed. A subwoofer is always a good thing. It will produce frequencies that top cabs just can't. When the red light comes on it is clipping, which is never a good thing. I always try to remember that bass takes more power to create and will cause an amp to clip faster. So if your pushing too much bass from your mixer or have too much bass on the eq of the speaker it will clip.

  • without producing alot of sound. I see Tapco and Mackie are making a companion subwoofer for the TH 15a I think it is the TH18s.

  • btw are you using speaker stands?

  • yeah thats what i mean, a crossover in the subby, and draw all the lower frequency from the cabs, then they wont clip all the time lol, thanks mate.

  • Great vid! thump is actually 400 watts

  • You are correct, I ment to back and say that its 298 watts low and 99 high. Thanks for reminding me.

  • No problem. great vid again! i'm considering getting thumps. if you have any 2 cents it would be greatly appriciated!

  • I think they are a great speaker for the money. Great sound quality, enough volume for small to medium size rooms. You can get the same speaker in the Mackie packaging for 100 more. They don't compare to my JBL MRX series, but thats apples and oranges. I have two sets of them now.

  • i am a singer just brought two of them 1.600 dollars are they good for vocals

  • Here in the states the tapco's have been going for 249 and the Mackie's for 349. USD I think they are great for vocals. Just have to keep in mind the power limitations. I think they would be great for small to medium size rooms, probably up to 200 ppl.

  • hey i just got these same speakers but i have a problem.... they sound great but when i plug my laptop in to the electrical outlet the speaker starts to buzz like crazy but when i unplug it from the electrical outlet the buzzing goes away .... what do you think the problem is ??? i changed the cables to a balanced xlr to qtr inch and it still buzzez,,, what can the probem be? and my laptop is pluged into the mixer. and my mixer to the speaker..

  • Sounds like a ground issue. I have performed at several venues that didn't all have the same ground for all the outlets. Try using the same power for all your equipment to see if that is the problem. One possible solution could be a direct box with a ground lift button. Also are you running a power conditioner for your mixer. I did have a "noisy" power supply for a yamaha mixer that was causing a buzz. Just had to move it away from the xlr cables to stop the noise. Let me know.

  • well it helped reduce the noise but the buzzing is still there.. thx for the help now i can hear the music more them the buzzing

  • any chance you can shoot and post some video of your setup, that might help

  • i just posted a video .... all i have are the speakers and the mixer... and i just bought a ground isolator at wamart for 15$ and it works good.... thx man

  • glad to hear it, we are all in this together.

  • What effect lighting are you using to get that twinkling firefly effect?

  • I think that is a laser light. There is company called KAM who produce a cluster laser. Kam DMX Star Cluster 3D its a RG laser. which retails at around £250.

Very different for a laser but very effective as you can see. Hope this helps you.

  • sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. It is the American DJ Galaxian you can find them all over for around $300

  • outdoors is rough, speakers really have to put out,

  • nice vid the thumps seem like they could handle a medium gig not just the small at least the dance floor which is all I do LOL

  • great vid bro
