Actually, having a trash macho visual, playing power chords on fast tempos doesn't make a band more energetic, there's a lot more subjective/indirect stuff to make a song or band "powerful". Even some soft ballads are more rock and roll than Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Libertines and Kings of Leon...

I'm gonna go ahead put it to rest and say that Kings Of Leon did not sellout. Too many bands get stereotyped into that bullshit. Plus I think it's only natural that a band wants to have more of a fanbase. I do know that they have become mainstream which doesn't mean shit cause before KoL came along all you heard was Green Day this and Linkin Park that. Their still original and they still kick ass.
