Hm... English Vocaloids sound pretty shitty, no offence to fans. What I'm wondering is if the Japanese ones sound as bad to native Japanese speakers?

@iceomthinhlaford Yes... Why do you think the Kagamine's have an Act 2? There are similair problems within Japanese vocaloids as there are English ones. And up until Miku's release, English Vocaloids were more successful then Japanese ones. But, English Vocaloids have a LOT of samples per voicebank (8,500) then Japanese ones (1,300). A good English Vocaloid is harder to produce compared to a good Japanese one. :-/

@iceomthinhlaford And, the Kagamine's are missing a phoneme in their Act 2 voicebank... And if you compare Miku's voicebank to VY2, thats the first and last Vocaloid 2 Japanese voicebanks, you hear differences in progression. Miku's quality is quite low, and Japanese Vocaloids were originally missing a breath element that made them sound more realistic, They have breathing phonetics, but not breathing as they sing elements... VY2 was the first to have it. English vocaloids already had this.

@iceomthinhlaford Also, you simply cannot judge a Vocaloid without listening to 10 songs by various producers. Each producer uses Vocaloids differently or different styles. There is also progression over the course of the producers career. Other Leon songs include "something about us" any of the producer Muzehack's stuff, "Video killed the radio star". Theres lots more then this though.
