@MynameisAbhaySoni Shinkyokushin is kyokushin. Its just a specific faction of kyokushin.
Basically after the founder of kyokushin died, the organization frqactured into several competing groups each claiming to be the original and using identical name. There was 3 different "7th kyokushin world tournaments" a few months apart. Later Shinkyokushin renamed itself in Japan to be able to differ itself and its tournaments from the tournaments and other events of the 3-4 rival kyokushin organizations
I'd love to see what a "karate" fight looks like then. Lines blur between many fighting styles when your faced with an opponent trying to hurt you. Competition rules also dictates the "style" of the fight. I certainly don't see many "street fighters" throwing spinning heel kicks.
There is no protection except groin cup (and mouth guard as optional equipment if a fighter wants it) in regular international rules knockdown karate (as used by kyokushin, enshin, world oyama, ashihara etc etc).
you might see different types of protective equipment used for kids, or (rarely) because of stupid local law, but never in tournaments with full international rules.
No gloves, no shin/foot padding, no head or chest protection.
The rule is that when you enter the first fight of the event, you do so without any bandages of any kind.
A few fights into a tournament and it is unusual for fighters NOT to have bandages and tapes on wrists and such though. Knockdown karate is not all that forgiving on the body.
@Murphy4709 Headprotection doesn't protect ur nose, ur neck, or any other breakable part. It only protects u from bluntforce trauma to the skullbone itself, the thickest bone in the human body. knockout has to do with wiplash, its the neck ud want to keep straight
awesome!!! no kyokushin karate no life:)

well, sometimes, you got also bandages for the wrist or your feet if the fighter is hurt or something, is allowed to wear some bandages..

only for injuries occurring during the event.

@veshkeat
temple or chin ko's have nothing to do with neck, only brain recoil ko's come from neck or ko's were neck twists to far
and what about fysical ko's
like a short liver failure or stuff like that?
tipsy700 1 year ago
@tipsy700 true, but in my experience, perfect KO thru temple or chin are rare. send his head reeling back fast enough, and that puts him out.
