  • keep the fan on the entire time. the wire can be held down by electrical tape.

  • Certainly you have a cool car make alot of power. Your the second person i've heard of having overheating issues with a modified 2011 GT. From Experience, i would suggest having and instructor your first day at a new track. It looked as if you were driving in your comfort zone which is perfectly fine, but you were not driving the line. It is alot safer to drive the line. Also, an easy way to help kool down your car is to take a wire and connect the two leads where the relay plugs in to ke

  • @MissouriSGT I had an instructor with 30 years experience at the track (N. Watts) and I rode with two racers in their C6s running 2:55 laps. For the most part I was driving that line. The lap in this video was the second or third so it wasn't particularly fast, plus we were under caution approaching the climbing esses because the car in front of me hit a deer. I included this lap because it was more interesting with other cars.

  • Bottom line is that on a hot day I really do need more cooling capacity to run flat out. The thermostat stabilizes the temp at 90c so with my temps the thermostat was full open and heat was climbing. I did actually overheat after one run because rubber between the fan shroud and radiator got sucked into the fan, blowing the fuse.

  • I put the car in engineering test mode to monitor coolant temp. The outside temp was 94F, the coolant peaked at 104C but I was running in taller gears since I was learning the track and now paranoid about heat. The coolant temp always came down to 100C on the straight and then climbed a bit on the Patriot section on the GraNd Course

  • any heat soak my friend, i would like to put one in my 2012 gt, but afraid of the heat soak after 20-40mins.
