  • Hmm! The Foreign Legion is subjective, alot of western armies take foreigners the U.S is a perfect example. I served in the U.S Navy myself and I saw men from every part of the world. Canada,Poland,Belurus,Phillipines,Ghana,Mexico,Samoa,Tonga,Puerto Rico, Guam,England,Germany etc, etc.. You can join any western armie you just have to have a temporary visa, in the U.S if not even that.

  • It's not about 20cm's, about the diagonal or pythagoras. It is about following fu%%ing orders no matter how stupid they are. That's all what it is about. And no matter how stupid your supervisor is, he's just smart enough to convey orders and you are to listen to those orders or else...

  • @hugglebear69 i must have bought about 30 so far. and arent cheap either. they cost just over 20 euros at the foyer. which regiment were u guys in?

  • @farbuttnear 30 kepis!! How long you been in for. I was in 2 Rep in Corsica 2nd company. I don't know anyone who came anywhere near to buying 30!

  • you should of explained pythagorus's theorum to him,. i learnt that in yr 8. sould like a very hard life.

  • @monki600 - Haha... yeah, I think though that anything beyond six inches would have been a mystery to him!

The Life...... It was hard, and it wasn't....! For me it was a challenge. I was either too smart, or too stupid.... You decide!

  • I did six years and loved it. They are strict but so what. Nobody forces you to go though it so if you cant hack a bit of military bullshit, shut the fuck up cock muncher.

  • @67mikew - Fair comment I suppose, every military has it's idiots! I note that you haven't attacked my validity. You know what I said was possible! Probable, even....

We may not agree on the subjective. But on the truth, we must!

  • Listen man.All we can do is say like: he was in legion,he wasent in the legion. but its on you to cut that crap. POST A VIDEO WHERE YOU SHOW YOUR FRENCH PASSPORT AND SPEAK FRENCH. because kepi blanc can be purchased in a store. But i really dont belive you you ve been in legion cuz i never seen a legionnaire to take his kepi with him and also, thats the worst story ever. who cares about a t-shirt. why didnt you show some pictures from your time there???

  • @buyo69Losinj - As a Legionnaire, you have to buy new kepis continuously! They get nasty and sweaty, sure you can scrub them. But if you got a parade coming up, trust me.. You're gonna' buy a new one!!!!

A video in French? Sure I'll do that.....!!!

As for the content s of "Take Five"... I decide, not you! You can get pictures anywhere.... I want to show an alternative perspective... It's still true!

  • @hugglebear69 allright man sounds cool

  • @hugglebear69 i must have bought about 30 so far. and arent cheap either. they cost just over 20 euros at the foyer

  • @buyo69Losinj its obvious your a fucking idiot look at his physical strength for his age mind you the closest soldier youve got to is on counter strike, if you dont like the video just fuck off......your a yank arnt u?

  • Did you take on your new French Passport and live in France....or return to where you were from and resume your old I.D?

Interesting....I'm an NCO in the NZ Army, but I was thinking,so many Young New Zealanders are joining the Legion, and I would love to see the world again on duty rather than stocktaking supplies......and better myself.

  • @fixdeluxe1 - There was no real advantage for me to take French Citizenship.

*Note: If you DO take French citizenship, you get it with your REAL name. Not the new identity you get from the Legion. That means, if you get anonymity from the Legion when you join, you'll have to apply to get your old name back, before you apply for citizenship!!!

  • @hugglebear69 O.K,so you can't apply with Anonymity at all?!?!

You moved to Deutschland....I'm originally from Leipzig.

So you have to regulate your situation, which I heard can take months and you have to supply your original birth certificate and it's French Translation...which may be hard to get a hold of.

  • @fixdeluxe1 - You CAN'T apply WITH anonymity, but are given it upon arrival. This new identity is a rather odd and sensitive thing. A whole new person has been created with I.D. and Bank Account etc. The catch? It's only really valid in the Legion environment, though there IS a certain "overspill" into the civilian arena.

The Legion is run by the administration guys, the "Caporal-Chef"! It's his job to work in the office, but he won't do shit for you!

Soften him up first with a six-pack! ;-)

  • @hugglebear69 Sounds like Bribery to me....which is an Offence warranting Jail Time?

But you never did that, and I never mentioned it.....

Yea,so you have to apply for the passport not under sous-anonymous and regulate your situation.....but I was also wandering whether you serve in the Legion, then go back to your homeland as so-and-so,yet they never knew the whole time.

  • @fixdeluxe1 One leaves the Legion the same way one enters, under your own name! The only thing the people back home know, is what you tell 'em!

  • @hugglebear69 Well, that's interesting.Do you get a certificate of service or something upon completion of your contract?

I was also wondering, not to be annoying, but do most people who enlist accept French Citizenship?

  • i ment is this one of those comedy things or you realy an ex foreign legionair? cause i was thinking of joining.i even learned a bit of french. but i see what you mean about the stupidity you have to deal with cause i was watching a documentary on the ffl and one of the officers was talking to a group of new legionaires and he says IN FRENCH " does anybody not understand french." i mean come on if they dont understand french how are they going to know what you asked?

  • @ROBINMEADONTOP - Yup, I really was in the Legion and the stupidity is unbelievable. Your example is typical, I always felt sorry for the Asian guys, talk about being dropped in the deep end! Imagine joining the Chinese military? You wouldn't have a clue.....!

  • @ROBINMEADONTOP IF they did understand French,they would respond.It's a test.

  • are you for real?

  • @ROBINMEADONTOP - Well, I'm not a hologram if that's what you mean.

Or, Did this really did happen...? Yup!!!

Or, Am I as boring as everyone says? Hmmm, probably! (hell, you can't be good at everything!)

  • Jesus, you really go on mate, so boring, fuckin hell!!

  • @slikasrick - Freedom of speech is a double edged sword.

  • You took the time to answer somone gigging you, but didnt answew my genuine question.mmmm

  • THEIR THING WAS 20cm !!! GOOD ONE!! LOVE IT!!

  • goin to legion in sept... in medicals?? will i pass?? i had operation in 03... i have two scars on sides knee?? i dont have problem i jog 4days week.. i also thaiboxing?? if im fit and motivated will i pass medical???

  • Hehe some jazz fanatics might kill me for saying this but what's the name of the song ? x)

  • @PoppingSanta - Hi P. Santa, It's all in the name.... Take Five by Dave Bruebeck Orchestra.

  • @hugglebear69

    Thanks !

Hah I just realized we have the same painting ^^

  • @hugglebear69 I love that score!

  • wow i think u are great!!! u blocked my boyfriend as he thinks u are tellin a few fibs x

  • @bombalibrown - Hi! Thank you very much, though my presence here is not for the compliments, nor the applause!

If you tell me your boyfriends username (pm if you want), I will unblock him! But only if he can promise to behave. :-) I don't have a problem with someone who disagrees with the content of my videos. But if it becomes too abusive, then I see no reason why such people should be entertained here. I fall myself sometimes into the trap of "name calling", but it serves no purpose.

  • after your five year contract is over and you get to leave the legion...are you allowed to own your uniform and take it home with you along with your legion things???

  • fake. I don't even think he's been to recruiting...

  • Is this guy serious? haha "the guy" comes and inspects your locker? you neither sound nor look like your ex forces of any kind! The legion looks hardcore - you dont! p.s your box fold was total gash

    Ex RAF Regt

  • Hey, I have been to the legion Twice, first time waswhen i was 17 but i lied about my age and needed my parents cinsent and was give a form to get signed and bring back, i never went back, untill some years later and i failed the 2nd medical, I remember being shown the door and once outside just standing there , almost crying, i was gutted. still haunts me and i think alot about trying for the 3rd time.

  • @bevansoldiers what was the problem the secound time

  • @1ukjunglednbraver the 2nd time i failed the medical, i have varagus veins in one leg and apprently that stopped me, i think back then they could afford to be fussy about who they let in, maybe its different today cos of all the wars going on and a lot of ex-soldiers are going straight into private security work, maybe, who knows...

  • Capt Dary, was he the skinny fella with the pebble glasses and thin moustach ?

I passed the caporal course in 16th place, I was non francofun when I joined. Picked up the french quite easily though (used to speak german too) but the written test papers were a bit of a bitch, I drew pictures to answer some of the questions, ha !

What regiment did you end up in ?

  • Hi Ray,

Ha ha, I got on well with sklenak, I could outrun the bugger and he hated that but then he put me on the caporal course straight after training (le echelle vite).

I was in the section of major Stevanassi after that.

Small world isn't it, I was 27 when I joined after 9 yrs in british army, seems so long ago now.

Remember the runs along the canal du midi ?

Ignore this wannabe on here, that's all he is, never had the will to do it so likes to dream he could off.

    Rrrrrrrrrepo.

    Sam.

  • Hi Ray,

3 Cie as an EV, Section Adjutant Sklenak

    Matricule 169432

Think My dates are right, was a long time ago.

One thing I do remember was the run around the square to the chin up bar, just outside and opposite the refectoire door for the appertiffe and the cold water showers in the shower room at ground level behind the barrack block (was it directly behind the med centre).

Also remember drinking Little shot glasses of a clear liquid with a prune floating about in it at the foyer and K1664

  • Raysondetra-When were you at Castel?

  • I really don't give a flying fuck if you believe me or not. So you can take your unobtrusive questions and shove them very obtrusively up your ass!!!!

  • Good to see many similarities

  • Did you speak any french at all when you first walked into a recruitment office?

  • Good question @ Jordijulian!!! This actually merits a video in itself, thanks for the inspiriation! But in short.... I had average high school French, which may equate to a similar standard in Spanish for all our American friends. That, and a Summer season working in a French Camping resort. :))... Then I joined up in the Autumn (Fall USA). Good time to join BTW! Fewer recruits = Better chances. Funny that! People get suddenly less brave when it's cold out side lol!!!

  • Are you serious on that last thing you said or your just taking a piss?

  • MEMO: the days of Hardass bad boy tough guy james dean are gone sir. Your statement that you need to be tough and smart in the Legion. No shit. EVERY MILITARY AND POLICE FORCE IN THE WORLD nowadays only look for people who are physically fit and have decent amount of intellect. No military or police force needs tough guy trouble makers, that was back in the day. That kepi blank is not proof you were in the FFL. I can buy the kepi and medals, uniform from Amazon. Pictures and documents isPROOF

  • The best part was trying to fold a f***ing trench coat 20 x 20.

Trouble is, I've been out nearly 25 years, and still fold my clothes in neat little stacks.

  • That's not sooooo bad, imagine if you woke up one night whistling corvée compagnie! Now that's a fuckin' nightmare.

  • Jesus christ, if you dont believe this guy is genuine hes said in another vid, fuck off.

Its that simple, hes not trying to convince anyone of his identity, just share some stories. If you dont like what you hear do what he says and fuck off and stop posting.

Anyway thanks for uploading the vids

  • Thank you!!! I apologies, I must have missed you comment previously. You have captured my sentiment exactly! "Take it or leave it! I really don't give a shit, either way!"

  • Financial services? Holy crap! I thought this idiocy was reserved for the military. Perhaps that explains much about the banking crisis. You should send him this video, maybe he'll recognize himself. :-))

  • that sound likes my current boss and i work in financial services. God help us

  • Some people just have the wrong notion of eveything around them. kinda sad really

  • what regiment did u serve wit?

  • You know... If I were lying... I might be worried. But that's the amazing thing. It really fuckin' happened!!! At the time I was speechless. I mean you expect your Armoire/locker to be ripped out and told to do it again, that's part of military life, happens everywhere I guess.

But this guy took the biscuit because he REALLY thought that it should be 20x20x20. That, my friend is plain fuckin' dangerous.

Giving up your life, just because you superior is a retard, just doesn't do it for me!

  • man it doesnt matter the guy probably didnt like ur face and made u redo it lol...

i would just like to know as an ex legionnaire why on earth would you speak bout it on the net? lol

got a random question for you tho mate..

arent u scared they come and get u ?

cause from what i know about the legion "Marche ou creve"

  • Don't believe that nonsense. They will never employ "assassins" to hunt your insignificant ass all the way around the world. If you end up deserting they could care less, its the people they keep who they care for, they will never risk international sanction to hunt down your sorry ass. They can mount a search for you and beat your ass if your caught , but they will never risk anything to "eliminate" an insignificant deserter whose value to the legion is nothing. Think about it.

  • he doesnt even have the tattoo /facepalm

    pathetic guy.

everyone finished FFL have a FFL tattoo on theyr hand.

  • i think you're genuine. though i also think you maybe didn't go past basic training. It sounds right for something that could happen to you in basic training. how long did you actually stay in?

    standard enlistment is 5 years

  • What a throbber

  • i think you're genuine. though i also think you maybe didn't go past basic training. It sounds right for something that could happen to you in basic training. how long did you actually stay in?

  • This is so stupid...

But i love my mom deeply...

And i don't want to take any chances.

    Sorry.

If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours

  • to catholiccontracktkill. 2rep is one of the best reg's in le legion and he must have been a tough bastard to get thru it. respect to a fallen comrade. legio patria nostra, the legion is our homeland. he is sitting pretty im sure. my thoughts go to you.

  • i would like to join.. but they dont pay good money. 1200€ per mounth is nothing! thats the only thing thats stops me.

  • @adamukrop but think u dont have to spend a penny after..your 5 years if up u could have saved up 50 thousand euro..most people would strugle to save that in 5 years if they had to pay there rent and buy food for them selfs even if they were getting 25thousand a year

  • the first meassure isnt 20cm but 20.5 the inside folding is sticking out as well.....failure at his best,it isnt ironed either.

dutch have a saying;no mather how fast the lie is,the truth wil catch up any how!!!!

  • You stupid fuckin' twat! Do you really think that I'm gonna iron and measure a T-Shirt just for a video. Are you completely out of your tiny Dutch mind. I take it you smoked a BIG Tulip before writing. You'll be complaining next that it's not 20cm across the diagonal.

Go join the Legion, you'll fit right in!

  • Americans are too weak for legion.American army is good because technologie, and for ONE fighter 10 are behind ...

There were only few amercans in légion.

  • you should "pomp...pomp...jusq la mort"...pour sa

  • Another mythomaniac anglophone dreaming about the French Legion. Sad bunch of poor lads, they make. Join the US Army, sweetheart. You'll get to throw puppies off cliffs and bomb herds of sheep (on-the-go, of course, to minimize risks). That's the kind of brave army longing to get you.

  • as an ex-legionnaire; this guy doesn't have a clue about the military & definitly not the legion, most of his info he read from books

  • another stories about legion willbe nice :)thx

  • Im going March 1st to France to go join if you can wait...

  • make it april boys and we all go together

  • very cool. I would join the legion, but I dont want to forsake my country, and my dad was in the US navy. so, I guess I dont have a choice.

  • Of course you have a choice, its your life mate! you live it how you want.

  • yeah, its just, I dont really feel like getting disowned. hehe. no, but I am a proud american, and most americans arnt to keen on the french. haha! the only thing I dont like is the fighting for france bit. I love the idea about all the nationalities, cus i grew up in thailand and went to school with like 35 different nationalities, so...but Im going us army in 2 years!

  • Well do what you must bud, dont worry about what your parents think, whatever you decide to do weather they like it or not they will eventually come around. My parents frobid me from joining the army and im going to hopefully start training with the paras in january, they are slowly coming round to the idea. But good luck on what ever you decide to do, hope it works out :)

  • haha, yeah I see youre point. But come on, your a brit right? would YOU want to fight for FRANCE? My dad was Navy, so he doesnt have a problem with me joining, but he wanted me to to join the air force which I thought was wierd cus he was navy. but im goin army airborne. you are joining the paras huh? thats cool, they are tough! I want to make airborne Ranger or sniper. Good luck with joinin though:)

  • hahaha funny as hell

  • MORE VIDEOS SIL VOUS PLAIZ

  • My apologies dint mean to sound disrespectful or anything!

  • but in the foreign legion dont they also stick u in the desert for training, make u dig your own "grave" or hole where u stay that night in the terrible weather and all? you gotta be pretty mentally strong for that 2

  • @Ischnitzelyou Not now, because they lost their Training Base in North Africa. They now train in Mainland France I think and are Deployed to French Guinea,Corisica(2ndRep) Augbane(4th Training Regt) and Morrocco.

The Grave is less common than the Duck, which the NCO's make you squat and run around quaking with a bag on your back, wire straps and a large stone.

  • ohh sorry DPK answered that question before the diagonal bit LOL ok thats it im not joinin

  • use the floor tiles as reference

  • 20x20x20 on diagonal? O_O wtf? army is a stupid thing

  • Haaa great video. Love the hats they wear.
