Correction. Em was INFLUENCED by Redman. But as with most MC's today, he expanded beyond his influences & became something greater. Can Red flow on the same level as Em? Ok, when u name Pac, u're just cheating. I think thats why the dead rappers weren't mentioned in the bracket. They'd get top slots automatically. I don't even mention Pac anymore when people ask me, cuz he's automatic. I will say Pac wasn't the best lyricist. Look to "Hit Em Up" 4 proof. Compare that diss song to, say, Ether or Takeover, it was intense, granted. But far from lyrically dexterous. If Big ever responded, u might have got a better gauge of their skills.

Everybody's hot 4 different reasons, but LL IMO is the worst best rapper alive. L's only won battles on paper, but never with listeners. Canibus & Moe Dee slaughtered that guy. As for Jay, I see him as Jordan in rap because he's the best ALL AROUND MC. MJ got his ankles broke B4, tru. He wasn't as consistent a 3pt shooter as Reggie Miller. But he was versatile. Same w/Jay. Eminem would be the best LYRICIST right now, but he's right behind Hov. But don't sleep on cats like Joe Budden.

Highly overrated lyricist. He can be intense, but people tend to mistake that for skill for some reason, just cuz he said it loud. Like I said, Kool Moe Dee & Canibus slayed him, & if u listen 2 "Flava In Ya Ear", he actually had the worst verse. He's stood the test of time, but not for the reason people try to give him credit for. He's certainly not even the best from his own generation. That goes to Kool G Rap.

Uncle L smoothed at killed the momentum of not only Moe Dee but strangled Ice-t and clowned Hammer with ' To The Break Of Dawn'. Canibus didn't slay anything but his own career !! If you can go back you'll see L answered everything bis thru at him and added salt to the wound by making his name the Hook plus ripping' Back where I belong'.

Depends on your definition of "Rip". And I don't see how u could even count Ice T & Hammer. They were no credible threat to anyone lyrically. Ask around to any objective listener, they'll tell u "To The Break of Dawn" was one of L's weakest "Diss" songs ever. Ripper Strikes Back is far superior, but the fact remains that popular opinion says Moe Dee & Bis merc'd L. L's only triumph is that he outlived his enemies, but that's business, not lyrical.

Look, KMD gets mad props for sparking it with 'How you like me now' and coming like a Bull with Let's go but came stale and with the same flow and repeated lyrics on Death Blow !! I give props to originality and Jack the ripper to 'Break of Dawn' he came with a different sound, different style and different flow plus not to mention 3 emcee's dissed !! Ok, I can dig that... But once again, I'm more for potency. Jay Z also dissed several rappers in one song called "Takeover". Comparitively, even tho I think Hov coulda came harder, it's still much more potent than "Break of Dawn". So is it quality or quantity? Put it like this... If all the notable rappers ever involved in a beef wit L were all set 2 battle "Fight Klub" style, who would survive? Nix the beats 2 their verses, L would be at least be 3rd 2 fall outta the race leaving Bis & KMD

You can't really compare the two emcees. For 1, they came from 2 different era's !! 2, the atmosphere was totally opposite from song styles to subject matter. I say this to you, if you wasn't living in that era, you really don't know the potency of those lyrics and what peeps thought. Canibus didn't move me because 2nd round was nothing more than a rehash of what KMD spit, just with a harder beat and as I stated, L didn't back down, answered everything and kept coming !!
