Are those pickups stock or did you swap them out? It might just be the amazing quality of PRS Custom 24s, but I've never heard a sound that beautiful before, and I worked in a guitar shop for five years.

Ive heard it sounds quite nice and plays well. I just dont really like the Opeth logo on the bottom of it. It looks a bit tacky.

@Moltisanti thanks a lot, man, when i found this guitar, it was love at first sight :) But do you think the difference between the 57/08 and the HFS is really big? I mean, i think i can have a nice heavy sound in high gain... i would like to hear both at the same time...

@sampaiocadu - I have a Custom 22 with DGT pickups in it at the moment, and compared with my Custom 24 it does have less power, but is definitely more musical and much better clean. I'm very tempted to get a set of 57/08s in my CU24 and just up the gain on the amp if it needs more beef :D

@sampaiocadu Its a huge difference trust me! the new 57/08's have a greater attack because of the new(old Gibson) wiring systems paul used. I have an HFS setup and I'd trade anyday for the new pickups, thats why they're 500 for a set on prs website

@dewaldjohan Ok, i'm not 100% sure, but a thik it was something like that: Noise Gate (standard).

"Classic Distortion" Drive: 70% Gain 50%, Tone 35%.

"Class A-30 Top Boost" Drive: 40%, Bass 65%, Cut 50%, Treble 65%, Presence 65%.

"Standard Spring" Reverb I played with the bridge pick up. Well, hope it was helpful.

Ahh.. I'm on the verge of ordering this guitar, with this finish in smoked amber too, it's so sweet! But I'm a bit concerned of how these 57/08 pickups will hold up to metal and heavier rock, since they're quite low on the output! What's your experience with this guitar and more heavy distorted type of music? Can you get that heavy death metal "chugga chugga" type o sound? Thanks!

@MrSlimfinger lol Well I must say i'm in love with this guitar! imo it's the best guitar i've ever played (and i have a Gibson Les Paul Custom : ) ! about the high gain i think it goes really well. It's not thrashing like an EMG or a Seymour Duncan, but the bridge pick up is very good for high gain. my next video will be the baying of the hounds from opeth, so you can see for yourself! Btw do you know the difference between the standart Custom 24 pickups (vintage bass and HFS treble) and mine?

@sampaiocadu the 57/08s have a much lower output than the HFS (the vintage bass is similar) and they are traditional vintage PAFs, the HFS is aimed more at high gain stuff and will drive your amp harder. I've heard 57/08s doing higher gain stuff and sounding fantastic.
