Ok first not all germans are nazis and not all japs are kamakazis and bad people it was only the ones who followed and helped with the war so dont blame the whole entire race cause half of the germans (not including Nazis) had no idea what was going on until the end of the war
@boman95 We know that, but, while it would be nice if we could only kill Nazis and leave the rest of the Germans untouched, war doesn't work that way.
this should not be made a comedy.. it should be made as decent action sci-fi. The Nazis, comming back with superiour but still brute technology, have simply too much potential for being the ultimate nemesis, which should not be wasted for some half-baked jokes!
@supergnu There are just little bit jokes I guess. If there wouldn't be jokes it would probably be banned in many countries ..and of course it will be banned in Israel at least if Israelis doesn't demand to see Iron Sky :D
The worst murders. Americans almost exterminated a whole race, the native americans. They are also the only ones who used an atomic bomb. Also the only nation who still try to run the world with any means.
1) ...We exterminated the Native Americans. Well, I'll hand it to you, you come up with some original ideas.
2) We single-handedly ended WW2 in the Pacific and saved thousands of lives, and you consider that a bad thing?
3) We try to run the world? I'm really curious where you get these concepts.
The Nazis almost exterminated an entire race - the Jews - quite famously. WW2, which they started, resulted in over 61 MILLION deaths. Oh, and the Nazis were the one building a reich, not us.
I'd look at Tjw1090's comment, but on top of that, I wouldn't call the Japanese innocent any more than I would call the Germans innocent. The Japanese, displaying amazing strategic abilities, decided to try to take out the Navy, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, destroying billions of dollars' worth of ships and equipment, and dragging America into a needless war across the Pacific. I think they well deserved it.
Not to mention that, if we had caused as many deaths through conventional bombing, I don't think anyone would have thought anything of the event. There's little controversy over any other bombings, although they caused more casualties than Little Boy and Fat Man put together.
Second of all: What's the point talking and fighting about WW2 and argue about which country WAS worst, mine or yours or some else? It's past and i think it should be objektively pointed out f.ex. in films, which means no more pro-allies WW2 movies please.. It would be refreshing to see pro-nazi WW2 movie. I really am very VERY strongly against everything nazis stood for, but still, it would be only reasonable and fascinating to have both sides in the movies!
Just because it's history doesn't mean we need to portray each side as being good. I don't mind portraying Nazis as being human -- Hitler wasn't like the Emperor from Star Wars. That doesn't mean they weren't evil. And their principles of national socialism and their xenophobic genocidal concepts...
The protagonists of a movie should be people you can side with -- not racist fascist dictatorships.
But, if you think such a movie would be fascinating, that's a matter of opinion, I guess.
Soldiers are civilians, WW2 had a huge draft. And if you have a problem with breaking the back of the population at large, then that also means you are opposed to Sherman's march to the sea, which means by default you opposed the union and supported the confederacy.
@Matvo86 What do you think would have happened to those citizens, had the United States invaded Japan? What do you think US and British bombers were doing for the entirety of World War II? The amount of civilians killed by the atomic bombs dropped on Japan was about 100,000. The amount of civilians killed throughout the war was -- ready? -- 52 million. If we had invaded, the civilian death count would have been far, far, greater.
@sander1230 I like how, even if these were valid points, they have nothing to do with who's responsible for WWII.
1. No. Just, no. The Native Americans were attacking us right off the bat. When Christopher Columbus came to the Carribean, he left several of his men behind to start a colony. When he returned, guess what? They'd all been killed. I don't see how you can sympathize with the warmongering barbarian tribes we fought off.
2. So did every other European country on Earth. Surprise!
To be fair, most nations had a role in World War Two in some form or another, and a lot of the guilt and anger Germany had was a result of Britain and France demanding a ridiculous amount of money in damages, only because they won the war. One thing I can say for us, is Wilson did not want war reparations,
Had our ancestors not used the nuclear bomb, which only killed under 400 thousand, the invasion of Japan would have cost 1 million american lives, 500 thousand british lives, and countless millions of japanese lives.
Depends on how you look at it. A new world order is now taking place, called globalisation. Will be no borders, nations in the future. We will all be enslaved, no democracy. Hitler were our only chance. Question is if his world order is better. Atleast I would have lots of benefits if nazis ruled.
I agree that the current state of the world is rather scary, and that this globalisation is worrisome. But genocide is one of the few things I'm NOT expecting from the modern world, unless the extremists get into power. I'd rather live even in a pathetic socialist state than one that massacres millions of people simply because of their roots.
no post in a month, I hope they are busy filming. BTW I hate to come accross xenophobic but i hope there will be an english speaking version of the movie
Space Nazis... well that may be a first in film, i think...
BUT having a film were the Germans win? Now that would be an all time first

The movie should be pro-nazi. We have already had unfair pro-allies films before. Atleast pro on both sides then, to be fair.

Yeah! Then we can make some pro-confederacy, pro-taliban and pro-soviet movies too!

"We have used it in order to shorten the agony of war, in order to save the lives of thousands and thousands of young Americans."
(97. Radio Report to the American People on the Potsdam Conference)
So the atombomb killed hundreds of thousands innocent japanese people in order to save thousands of american soldiers? That´s sick!!!

The Nazis were the only one who are responsible for WWII!? Fuck that!
1. You nearly exterminated the native americans
2. You had slaves from Africa
3. You had a big civil war between north and south
4. You played a big role in WWII
5. You were in Vietnam
6. You were and you are in Iraque
Just to count the important ones.
Any other questions, warmonger!?

3. Yeah -- to stop slavery, which you were just complaining about.
4. To stop a fascist regime from decimating Eurasia, and then moving on to us.
5. To stop the communists from bringing their totalitarian rule to a country that couldn't defend itself from the Soviet Union and China.
6. To take out Sadam Hussein, who had been torturiing people and commiting genocide.
Man, I'd love to see what the world would be like without those wars, wouldn't you?
