Looks like a good basic looper+basic effects package. Can you do the pitchshift on just the guitar sound as well as the whole loop? I likes me some Matt Bellamy/Tom Morello style pitchshift. Also, can you store a riff in loop 1 and a turnaround in loop 2? Or more songwriterly-like, can you store a verse in loop 1 and a chorus in loop 2? That's the one thing about looping - I get bored of the same four bars over and over. Then again, 90 seconds may help with that.
@thescowlingschnauzer it's not really so well suited to songwriters as some other options out there we'll grant. It's got some very unique features that can make for some interesting sounds but it won't be for everyone.
@AndertonsMusic Thanks for the quick response. When you say "some other options", what are those? I'm looking for something for a live situation. The only thing I've seen thgat comes close is the Boomerang 3.
one pedal im not a huge fan of :/ indeed havin those effects seems cool, i expect my looper to do what its mean to do...loop. and for effects, i can run it through my pedals and such, then again i dont use effects at all on my rig, as of right now.
Could you guys do one of your great direct recording demos of the new Vox Tonelab EX? It seems no one else has managed a really good demo of it, and your guys' demos are always tops.
@theverbalrelease I bought a tonelab EX, and I am now returning it. It is just not very good imo. Direct recording was alright, but the tone was quite bland and felt "closed" most of the time. Through a tube amp (front, and through fx loop), all the distortions were very bland compared to the amps own distortion. The effects are alright, but some are unusable in many cases. The user interface is very, very bad. You will have to read the manual, the whole thing (its not that long, thankfully)
@theverbalrelease You'd probably be better of with a HD POD, or using the money in other things. The Ease of recordings was good, once you download the appropriate drivers from vox. Even though it has a tube, it sure didn't sound like it.
@CoolKabbage I tried that little Vox modeling amp one time. I really didn't care for it and sent it back, but I was thinking the new EX might sound better, but apparently not. Anyhow, I'm quite happy with my Fender Mustang I.

@thescowlingschnauzer well in our opinion its hard to beat the Boss loopers especially the RC-300 if you can stretch to it.
