My bike started as an 87 R80RT and a mono shock is stock in that year, it is just usually not as easy to see. Good luck with your future project.
Yes there is a seat, stainless steel tractor style mounted directly to the frame. The BMW suspension is good enough that the seat does not need to be sprung.

Awesome Bike, I started saving money for a BMW project. I ride a Buell XB12 but a cafe R100 is always in my mind.
Could you tell me what engine and frame is your bike?
I like how you have a mono rear shock, did that came stock? or you repositioned?
