I'm not ashamed that I drive a minivan. ;-) I respect that minivans are a practical, comfortable choice.

I think the commercial is "tongue in cheek" and pretty funny. As an Odyssey-driver, I am completely aware that society thinks vans are for "dorky soccer moms." Shrug, whatev.

Personally, I think it's pretty sad that people feel that they have to "prove their coolness" with their vehicle choice.

Yeah... weird dash layout, front end looks like it has down syndrome. I'll admit, there is a lot of good stuff in the Sienna and it really pushes the bar in value, but I'll have to pass thx. NO van "pwns" anything. You buy 'em for the purpose of lugging around a family (sedan, anybody?) or cargo (get a pick-up). You don't own a minivan and look "cool" driving one.

As for what they need to do with the minivans: Look a few Ford models. Those are the best-looking mini's on the market. Otherwise, don't even bother.

I've owned two before... They both sucked. **2000 Ford Windstar broke down the first month after we got it. Then **2002 The old Windstar completely died and wouldn't ever start again.... On top of that we had about 4 recalls in just one year and a half.

We now have a 2006 Honda Odyssey and it's perfect. WE LOVE IT! :D

While Honda's and Toyota's may perform better and get better resale, I'm talking on a different level. Also, to be fair, American cars have gotten better over the past few years. The Previa was the most most unique and sleek-looking minivan America ever had. There was essentially a sequel to it in Japan that looked even better (can't remember the name of it; Wikipedia the Previa). The thing that killed the Previa was its maintenance cost. Otherwise, it was the most family-friendly vehicle we ever had.
