  • I truly enjoyed Profs. Crease and Cassidy's careful scholarship and anecdotes. But I was carried away with pleasure by Prof. Bernstein's color and personal recollections. He had the great advantage of actually knowing Oppenheimer personally, and as he thoughtfully mentioned..he liked the man. I've always been a fan of Prof. Bernstein's writing. And now after seeing him speak I know why-he has a wonderful "feel" for the emotional impact and tension of each encounter or story.
