  • sir i love you lol

  • thanks dylan..check out my channel..snakeadventures's...on youtube..we have timbers and cottonmouths from den sites in southern illinois...

  • My six year old grandson loves your videos. He loves to learn about wildlife, and watches shows like these over cartoons, please remind little ones NOT to try this at home...LOL He really thinks he could.

  • I hope you get bit!!!

  • you put your self in danger at least 4 times level to your body your lack of expierience shows when u took her off the cliff you almost got it lol be careful dude

  • man love the vids love the rattelsnakes and u handel it well ive handeled some rattel snakes here in alberta canada and i say the a great snake keep up the great work

  • dude ive been watching ur videos and they are really cool! keep it up!

  • hmm i actually think you were handling it pretty well except for the "Le trip" part. Steve Irwin would applaud you.

  • he never gets bitten lol

  • give me a break droconnor82 you make me laugh moving a snake a couple feet is not going to hurt it in any shape or form gravid or not gravid try to show your " smarts" somewhere else dumbass

  • did you say it is in illinois?

  • Dylan I can totally appreciate your enthusiasm and fundamental understanding of rattlesnakes but a few things your not considering.

For one it's illegal to manipulate a threatened or endangered species. That poor snake looks like she just came out of hibernation to thermoregulate. She is probably gravid and needs to be out basking so that her babies develop properly. By pulling her away from her basking spot it just adds unnecessary stress to her.

In the future it's best to leave them as found.

  • What is your advice there "Dr. Connor?" To not have hands on experience with nature? Hmmm...that seems fairly lame. Are you actually some sort of doctor, or are you an internet troll that spreads all his/her vast wiki-knowledge to all the youtube nerds

  • Far from a troll. Yeah I'm some sort of doctor but it has nothing to do with the sound advice I gave Dylan. I'd say the past 15 years of working with rattlesnakes qualifies me to give a young guy some advice that might help him appreciate the things he finds a little more.

I am far from telling him not to have a hands on experience but to avoid it when it's to an animals detriment. Maybe if you understood rattlesnake biology a bit you'd understand my advice. Sorry if I ruffled your panties.

  • Any sort of manipulation can be argued as detrimental to the animal. However, this is the only way one can truly learn of the world around us. Dylan no doubt has an appreciation for this animal that people who only watch videos and read of the animal will never understand. Either you are a snake researcher and have done the very thing Dylan does in this video, or you are lying about your expertise.

  • OK I think your missing the point. I am not telling him not to have his fun playing with a snake on a stick. I was merely pointing out that some snakes at certain times of year should be left alone, not all snakes. Dylan has a second video of a big male he found out away from its den and in this case doing his thing with the stick is fine. In this case however is it worth risking the life of the developing embryos inside that female so he can "learn about the world around him"?

  • Fair enough. Regardless, cheers to our shared enjoyment in wildlife.

  • shut the fuck up faggot. he's not doing anything wrong to it. take your hippi rules and shove them up your ass bud.

your probably the no good cocksucker that reported dylan before. mind your own buissness asshole!!!

  • @droconnor82 This is a pretty old video. I would never try anything like this again to be honest. That is way to much stress on a very sensitive species. I was younger, and very very excited at the time. Forgive my lame antics.

Thanks for adding constructive critisism and not name calling and be generally disruptive. I appreciate comments like yours.

  • @droconnor82 ur a faggot! if he wants to touch the thing for 10 mins who cares!!!!!! itll be alive in 10 more mins u FUCK

  • wow, Dylan, you are one amazing fearless soul. But your number one power is your knowledge about reptiles. Good for you, sweetie. Stay safe.

  • yeah man, i hate how people act so irrationally with "dangerous" animals.

  • I live in Central North Carolina and I saw one of these in my back yard. They're not common in my area I was shocked when I saw this.

  • I love your videos but I still think you are insane.

  • Forget the rest of the lamer comments. You seem very relaxed in your handling. A good skill to have. Only negative I have is, buy a nice snake stick. Keep up the great work herp!

  • we have a whole bunch of timber rattlers here in california....you guys want some more out there in IL?awesome video, very cool!

  • great vid man ....I live in CT and we have a ton of timber rattlesnakes around our woods one of my firends goes on hikes to find them and he was telling me about one spot he ran into that they probably found about 100 rattlesnakes throughtout the day hike he had a ton of pics but def good vid just be careful man one bite is all it takes.

  • dont we hav 2 rattlers

  • your videos are pretty cool, but you should seriously consider being more profesional. snakes that can kill you should not be handled. unfortunately some people who see this don't underdstand that, and as someone who considers himself a herper, you have an obligation to respect that.

  • i wish snakes lived here in the forest ... :(

  • they do live in the forest...thats why they call it a timber rattler.

  • ...

    i live in beglium ...

  • Lol dude i held one once with my bare hands ill have to put the video up i didnt no what kinda snake it was till i grabbed it lol

  • hey man, that's not funny. getting bit one one of those puts you in deep shit.

  • Comming soon, the video where he gets bitten and goes to the emergency room.

  • you Think it would strike already holy crap

  • venomous snakes would rather conseve their venom then use it. it takes awhile to regenerate venom.

  • good stuff here, with a better camera you could really make some good vids

  • I googled Fults, and that is nearly at St Louis - I though Timber Rattlers were only found in Appalachia.

  • na we got em up far north too.. up in CT we got a few

  • thats a nice snake and i just git some pics of a mojaive rattler a couple days ago 3 months ago i was taking pics of a eastern copper head and it bit me on the finger but i had some anti venom on han u should do a bit on them

  • The stupid rattle gives me a migrane.

  • Doing a great job man! We need people to help educate on these wonderful animals! The only thing i recommend is getting a descent snake hook. You can get one for 20 or 30 dollars. I can hook you up with outfitters if you want one. It is just a lot safer than a stick. I have never ran into a hot snake and used a stick where i wished i didnt have my hook. I never go into the field now without one.

  • I understand you know a little of what your doing, but that stick was way too short to take on a rattler that size. Great vid though.

  • cool lads

  • Save the timber rattler.

  • are u retarded or du u just want attention

  • both....

    but mostly retarded.

  • Haha, nice response Dylan.

  • notice the maturity in this conversation. im pretty sure its about 143% on dylans side

  • your not a retard!!

    your a brave herping dude!!

     lol

    AWSOME VID

  • @Reebbo xD

  • You little wankder, Nice vids Dylan

  • buddy you're the one whos retarded and wants attention otherwise you wouldnt have made such a dumb ass post

  • wow this video is much better then mine but still watch it lol

  • I've been trying to catch one around my house but I could never find one. Your lucky to have caght one.

  • if he really wanted to he could have bit you

  • hey mt mom lives in southern illinois in offalon by belleville whats next to st loius just in case if ... you know

  • there endangerd here in connecticut, theres only about 10 towns that have timber rattlesnake populations left

  • ever heard of hook?

  • Yea, it is a great movie.

  • @Reebbo haha

  • @Reebbo dude your hilarious

  • People that kill things need to die themselves too.

  • When I see someone killing a snake I will whoop their ass.

  • Exactley.

  • I mean exactly

  • No shit. I hate in texas they have roundups and kill them

  • You better be a vegetarian for saying that

  • huh why?

  • Timber rattlers are the ones we have in east tennessee too. That's the one snake I wanna find just about more than anything. I'm glad you know how to handle them properly. I have an Asian Vine snake, so I had to make sure I knew how to handle them properly too or else suffer the consequences. so far so good. cool vid.

  • You know TN has a zero tolerance for hots, right? ----no exception. Be careful about blabbing your mouth.

  • What is a hot?

  • hot = venomous snake ;)

  • A hot snake = a venomous snake. ^_^

  • Cool vid, I've been trying to find some venomous snakes here in Florida for a while, but no finds yet. I agree that people have this warped perception about snakes, especially venomous ones.

  • My kid sister's two greatest fears: snakes and trains. I'll definitely have to make a point of sharing this with her. ;-)

    Seriously, that was very cool.

  • thank you.

Hopefully it lessens her fear of them a bit.

  • this is awesome id like to learn more on herping im a beginner i have 12 snakes in my house currently and i cant wait to go to the show on the 6th in shelbyville

  • Well, YES... They are really dangerous... If you mess with them. lol.

  • Wow... They really ARE wrongly displayed in movies and books... They always make it seem like they should be killed at all costs. Bastards. lol... Sorry. While I know you shouldn't mess around with them, I guess they really aren't that dangerous after all. :) You Rock!

  • Snakes are good for the environment, they kill rodents and insects

  • omg like cool

  • that's cool man. u know a lot about snakes. and i stongly agree with the warped perception people get about snakes. keep up the good work.

  • Agreed about the roundups in Texas. I guess it goes with the area. Gotta have some sort of redneck activity to take part in. Why do people get such a kick out of killing the cool animlas we have here in the states? It boggles my mind. Keep informing, your doing a great job!

  • Listening to what you said about garter snakes..maybe I wouldnt like to have one hehe. Venemous or not I wouldnt want to be bitten.

  • they calm right down if you keep one as a pet. They are just cranky when you catch them.

  • Oh cool thanks. :) Wish I would have been there when you found all those under your house. They were so cute!

  • Dylan be careful.

Amanda would be sad if you got hurt.

    As would I.

    Herping with Dylan is intense.

  • I love reptiles(zoology major here) but I never thought I'd get so annoyed by a rattlesnake rattling! lol

  • yea no kidding ha.

I had to like shout over that thing.

  • The Timber Rattlesnake is as much a symbol of America as the Bald Eagle

  • I couldn't agree more.

  • Amen to that brother...Don't Tread on Me...great slogan as well as a Metallica song

  • Also you wanted to send a box full of Rattles to our government.

  • what are you talking about?

  • I think he is referring to how the Govt use to pay a bounty on Rattlesnake.

They would give you cash for each rattle you turned in.

  • oh that's somewhat cool i guess. i'd rather have them living than dead!

  • yea, was a terrible practice. Glad they don't do that anymore.

Now we just need Texas to stop the Rattlesnake Round-ups. What a ridiculous event that is.

  • F**king RNs!

  • hahahahha

    ooooh... I see now!

  • Yea not only are the gorgeous rattlers affected...those desert tortoises are too...

    It's awful.

  • yea it's a shame people practice such a savage ritual.

I feel bad for the tortoises, they are having a hard enough time as it is.

  • NO I'm about the revolution! I said,"our government", I ment the British government!

  • Hey, nice find, i love rattlers.. haha.... come ta oz n catch tigersnakes with us!! lol

  • They sure do act it lol.

  • you are one scary guy lol ratlers here in AZ are really mean. i admire you

  • aw I am sure they are not all that bad... =)

  • you are one scary guy lol ratlers here in AZ are really mean. i admire you

  • I saw a timber too. In New Hampshire, I was the first one in 100 years to see it!! Now N.E.R.D. is on my case.

  • glad to see they are still up there.

  • bad ass

  • Dylan, I have had enough I am gonna have to come check this place out. By the way I will buy you a snake hook.lol

  • hahaha I have one... just don't use it..

I find that a stick is more versatile... I can find a stick in any shape and size.. my hook is one size and one shape and dosen't always work for the occasion.

  • dude your fucking intense

  • good video man!

  • nice! im gonna go herping in southern california in about a week, hoping to find southern pacifics & western diamond backs.
