@sesshomakari should have just bought yourself a desktop, or a toshiba qosmio, alienware's are shit every PC gamer knows that, the hardware will start to shit out on you between 6 months and a year, i had a one of these took 10 months one of the GPU's went to shit, switched to a Toshiba Qosmio had to because of school dont regret it, BTW you can build a desktop for 600 dollars that is 500% better than any gaming laptop on the market.

If you are getting a laptop get an ASUS or ACER laptop you could get a 2K ASUS or ACER laptop with the excact same performance from a 7K Alienware they are overpriced. If you are getting a desktop build it yourself.
@WhiteandNerdy44 just recently got an alienware laptop for work, I don't plan to use it as a gaming machine, but the specs that they offer in the size of the m11x are very hard to find. It's like a mobile super computer :)

I have a maxed out m18x the thing is a beast! @rollwitdice Of course! They dont make it very obvious on their website since they just show solid colors but you have full control of all the lit up areas you see in the video. You can even have it rotate through the colors ever other second, you can have it flash, pulsate, react to music and even fade in and out slowly. The keyboard has 4 sections, then the track pad the speakers the logo the volume controls and the alien head in the back can all be changed to anything you want
@turkanator123 Yeah it was good while it lasted but if you check my most recent videos I now have an alienware m18x that has been the replacement of a replacment :D So i have gone from paying for an xps m1730 to getting a free m17x and then getting a free m18x I would say the 3 year warranty has paid for itself :P
@turkanator123 since you have one of the newer alienwares just like my new m18x you should have preset effects in alienFX. One of them should be a color wheel or rainbow option that changes ever color zone through all of the color randomly every other second. its really nice so it isnt always just one color for each zone

@RealinAmerica It kept needing parts replaced every week and I think after 3 or 4 times dell decides to just upgrade you to a new computer. Dell had just purchased Alienware and that replaced XPS as dells gaming sector so I was upgraded to the m17x free of charge
@raichu2514 They are both the same price bracket. The xps was around 5 grand when I purchased it and the alienware was worth around the same amount with max specs the prices dont change with new systems only the hardware. But since the xps was under waranty I got the alienware for FREE as a replacement. And I just recently had the alienware replaced again under waranty for free if you check out my new videos. so I have had about 15 grand worth of computers and only paid 5 at the start :)
@macosftw the 8700M GT is not a very good graphics card. You may be able to play older games on medium settings but none of the new games will play well on a card like that. You could play things like left 4 dead at medium settings. I would try to get a laptop with the 8800M GTX that will be the best you can get
@breakablecookie The 9800m GT was the best graphics card available for this XPS but that may be hard to find so the 8800m GTX is the next best thing...the 9800M GT is a 1GB card though so that makes a huge difference!

@macosftw Yeah if you get one with two 8800m GTX cards or two 9800m GT cards and a decent processor and at least 4gb of ram you should be able to play most games on medium to high settings. As for the price I'm not sure how much these go for anymore but I would guess a max spec model would be around 1k at this point.....I had spent a little over 5k for mine when it was new so thats a really good deal if you can get one in good condition.
@breakablecookie 8700Mgt plays lfd2 on high (not max) smoothly. I used to have an xps m1730. It was also able to play deadspace 2 high @ 1440 x 900 crysis 1 med/high 1280 x 720.
I like the design of the XPS better! at least it's doesn't have the childish look of the alienware! I always go for classics! too bad the XPS series is dumbed down now!

I still miss the feel of the keyboard, the logitech gaming display, and the accuracy of the trackpad from the xps....the alienware just doesnt compare in these areas.

@breakablecookie you'd be lucky to get an hour and a half out of it. playing games soon shortens that. Overclocked gfx cards do too. mine lasts about 40 mins on battery, utilizing full power (no powersaving at all) and thats WITH the processor overclocked, and the gfx cards overclocked too. stealth mode it lasts about 3 hours or so. Great Machine. I love mine

@purolacreo1000 I was allowed to keep my xps for 7 days after I recieved the new alienware so that I could transfer all of my data from one hard drive to the other and do any other things I wanted before I had to send it into dell. I was not allowed to keep the xps or sell it. About 3 days after this video was taken I shipped the broken xps m1730 off to dell. Dell does this so that you dont go a week or two without a computer during the trading process.
@xJimmysmallzX I have never seen an alienware in a store like best buy or any electronics store. As far as I know you have to order it online...which in the end is a better option anyway because you can have them make your computer the exact way that you want it.
@xJimmysmallzX I have not had a single problem with m17x...as long as you take care of it and keep the software up to date and virus free it shouldn't give you any problems I would highly recomend alienware and it is WAY better than my xps m1730 that I had to constantly have parts replaced on it.
@xJimmysmallzX other than the fact that alienware likes to charge way too much for things like ram and hard drives I dont find anything wrong with their products. In the end its all about how much your willing to spend, what your needs from the computer are, and what fits your needs the best. This computer was the perfect fit for me :)

@tiggermourgelas yeah they took the xps back a couple of days after the alienware showed up at my front door. Thats why I have both in the video. A basic model M17x wouldnt be worth the same as my XPS so they had to match the price of my old XPS which was fully loaded so that meant a fully loaded M17x :D
The 1 things that's grabbing all my attention is that sexy keyboard on the M17x. I wish my blackwidow had those outlines and a rainbow color scheme.

I like the design of the XPS better! at least it's doesn't have the childish look of the alienware! I always go for classics! too bad the XPS series is dumbed down now!

@jetpack1986 I agree the xps had a much more professional look but in the end they are both flashy gaming laptops with lots of colored lights lol
I still miss the feel of the keyboard, the logitech gaming display, and the accuracy of the trackpad from the xps....the alienware just doesnt compare in these areas.

@breakablecookie That keyboard is sexual, I still own one.. great little work mule / movie laptop. Screen is amazing.. and its silly comparing a £500 pound laptop to £2000 pound laptop :)

@breakablecookie you'd be lucky to get an hour and a half out of it. playing games soon shortens that. Overclocked gfx cards do too. mine lasts about 40 mins on battery, utilizing full power (no powersaving at all) and thats WITH the processor overclocked, and the gfx cards overclocked too. stealth mode it lasts about 3 hours or so. Great Machine. I love mine

@purolacreo1000 I was allowed to keep my xps for 7 days after I recieved the new alienware so that I could transfer all of my data from one hard drive to the other and do any other things I wanted before I had to send it into dell. I was not allowed to keep the xps or sell it. About 3 days after this video was taken I shipped the broken xps m1730 off to dell. Dell does this so that you dont go a week or two without a computer during the trading process.

@xJimmysmallzX I have never seen an alienware in a store like best buy or any electronics store. As far as I know you have to order it online...which in the end is a better option anyway because you can have them make your computer the exact way that you want it.

@xJimmysmallzX I have not had a single problem with m17x...as long as you take care of it and keep the software up to date and virus free it shouldn't give you any problems I would highly recomend alienware and it is WAY better than my xps m1730 that I had to constantly have parts replaced on it.

@xJimmysmallzX other than the fact that alienware likes to charge way too much for things like ram and hard drives I dont find anything wrong with their products. In the end its all about how much your willing to spend, what your needs from the computer are, and what fits your needs the best. This computer was the perfect fit for me :)

@tiggermourgelas yeah they took the xps back a couple of days after the alienware showed up at my front door. Thats why I have both in the video. A basic model M17x wouldnt be worth the same as my XPS so they had to match the price of my old XPS which was fully loaded so that meant a fully loaded M17x :D
