First time I saw his audition on AGT, he was about 3 notes into the song and I knew he'd win. Everyone in that audience experienced the same thing because that's about how long it took for them to react. Love this guy.

None of the singers who have won AGT were at an age where they could've been on American Idol. Michael Grimm was 30 when he was on AGT. The year before Kevin Skinner was 35. And the year before an opera singer won -- wouldn't that have been interesting to see on American Idol! The first year a 12-year-old girl won. AGT is for anyone with talent, be they a singer, magician, dancer, or any of 100 other talents. Myself, I'm thankful Michael was on and won. What an amazing singer he is!!!!

@tpacuk19 I'm a big MG fan and his voice is powerful and relatively unique. His performances last year and live connect better with the audience. He did this song well but it didn't draw you into the music that way some other songs did. Sometimes songs and performances can be powerful but the power of a singer is to draw you in not push you back to observing more than experiencing. Like all artists, not all great performances are masterpieces.

@CheeseQueen96 Poplyfe is a fresher talent and more commercisl. Lys is great but, I don't think she will carry an audience with her singing as it is now. It's not entrancing nor unique enough. Her field is too narrow (Classical Crossover / Opera) to be a successful solo artist (e.g. Linda Jenkins, Sarah Brightman, or even Jackie E -- who has sold over 1.5 million CDs already-- her voice is unique and entrancing). Best bet is to study real opera, could make it bigger there if fits her voice best.

Last year before this show aired, american idol was all there was.. It wasn't til after this show where "the voice" and now "x factor" came out... He's not an american idol, they look for people that they can shape and mold into pop stars, he's not that guy, plus, he was too old for idol so this was the only other show he could go on.
