    Deep facepalm.

Russian Jewish =/=/= Russian, for the God's sake!.. Otherwise "Oh Chanukkah" will appear to be an English song, et cetera...

  • Song from my younger childhood. this is just what i wanted out of this search

  • Got tabs for this or did you learn by sheet?

  • Fuckin sickness of the mack sauce

  • Nice way to play it (But you should lay off the coffee)

  • This, has nothing to do to be jewish or not.....it has to do with stupidity, ignorance and luck of knowledge.....period...

  • fuck you: this is RUSSIAN JUISH SONG

  • jewish song

  • This song is NOT Russian...!!!

It is a Romanian ,Yddish song....

You can see it on YouTube : Iasule,Iasule

    Nice play on the chitar....!!!!

  • @SROeuro not romanian, it ws crested by german and or polish jewsvand was spread into the ukrainy/russian territory where it caught on really quickly

  • @ize20044 .....Oh no...not German for sure....provide your prove...!!! It is Romanian...made by romanin Jewish people....

  • @112ayla OMG nobody cares... I bet ur jewish arent u cause thats the only explanation

  • People!!! This song isn´t jewish or ukranian!!!!!!!!!

In the time of world war 2 soldiers sang it, look up the lyrics. It´s a German text but the song is about Balalaika!! And now tell me, are there any jewish or ukranian people who have Balalaika as a Folk instrument!!!???????? God, it´s so stupid to discuss!!!!

  • The text (lyrics) is actually YIDDISH, and date LONG before ww2. Though the fact the words are in Yiddish would explain them being 'German' sounding.

  • This song is nice!

  • it's origin is debatable...

  • Lovely Judish,I like it very much

  • Please give me notes..

  • Whether or not this song is Jewish, Yiddish or Russian I believe it is beautiful! I have a copy of this song sung in Hebrew! One thing I do know it is not bullshit!

  • it is a pity that he was in such a rush.beautiful i really enjoy it in guitar

  • not so old. It's still spoken by rare and ancient people called Jews

  • You contradict yourself, first you say not so old, than you speak of ancient people, make up your stupid ignorant mind will you?

  • read a book, then another one, and like that, step by step, you'll learn more about the world around you, maybe even the Jews if you have enough space in ur head, which I doubt

  • I am jewish dombo. About books, better had red my channel first, reading is one of my passions. Like I said, ignorant...

commenting without even watching who or what I am. You make silly remarks and can't take reactions? Don't roll the dice if you cannot pay the price.......

  • I am happy for you being a Jew, if you are, so I'm now gonna teach you some basic facts about your people.

Yidish is a young language, based on German and ancient Hebrew and spiced with the native leaguage of a country the particular Jew is living in.

Talking about modern Hebrew, it was resurrected by some rabbi from Russian Empire in late XIX century.

And the people, it's old, ok

  • Talking about being rude and being agressive? Calling me a Troll, oh yeah that is politeness at its top ofcourse? Jews, if they can't wave hands, than turn back on cursing??

  • You easily generalise and judge a group of people, as it shows in your reply. Wow, assumptions only nazi's teached back than. Your remarks are clearly comming from someone without that much intellectual lugage. I rather speak about personalities than about "Jews" or Christians or whatever groups there are.

Lets leave it at this, your comments are not adding anything interesting to this discussion. As I said, if you cannot take a reply that doesnot suite you, don't comment at all than.

  • so, it´s right. :) original is yiddish (so old jewish language)

  • :D It is NOT an russian song! It's JEWISH SONG ;)

  • It IS a russian song.

  • search for informations in internet. this song was at the beginning jewish! maybe you have this song also in russian, but the original is jewish ;)

  • actually, the original is in yiddish, an offshoot of hebrew, but heavily influenced by german. Most speakers of german will actually be able to understand 80-90%. It's likely that it was made early on in a province that was originally german and throughout the numerous conflicts over territory fell into ownership by Russia, and hence is where the russian claim comes in.

  • as a speaker of rusishe yidish i cantell you that there are many foms of yidish. pilishe, rusishe, all have roots in german hebrew combo known as yidish

  • I agree or maybe Russians speak Yiddish nowdays- who knows :-)

  • Maiden, Maiden can you explain? What can grow without snow or rain? What can burn for endless years, and what can cry for endless years? Sooo pretty! I love this song.

  • Awesome job. Your guitar work is beautiful (though a bit speedy, I like your version). (:

  • i no this song in english!

    maiden maiden tell me true......

  • Haha, I learned it in English too! Though all the translations I see are a bit different than the one I learned. Does the one you learned rhyme?

  • You're on a hurry or what? Take the time dude; you play good, but not as the melody was ment to be used :(

  • ooo do u have tabs for this!!!!???

  • old jewish folk musik :)

  • du bist doof

  • dude can i please get the tabs for this?

  • hah! I play this song on piano =]

  • warum Russland7 Yddish& Yes!!!Was gud7 Yes!!!

  • oh man, tab/sheet music for this would rule

  • when you understand german its not a problem to understand jewish

  • lol its yiddish but ok

  • what do you mean "but ok" whats wrong with yidish

  • I like jewish music very much

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Muito bom, camarada. obrigado por compartilhar.

  • i like this osng i sing in in singing classes

  • Hi, Do you mind sending me the sheet music? I also play classical guitar :)

-I would appreciate it very much!

  • it's not a russian song. it's a jewish/yiddish song ( I'm pretty sure only the Jews and a few who did business with them spoke yiddish). nice guitar playing nonetheless.

  • good! but I think you are playing to fast in the beggining

  • By the way, Yiddish is a dialect of German/Hebrew/Polish and Russian spoken by the Ashkenazim of Central and Eastern Europe and Ladino is a form of Castilliano Spanish and some Hebrew and probably a few minor dialects as well spoke in the Court of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella when those two HATERS threw all of the Jews out of Spain in 1492!

Yiddish is a distinctive dialect. Guess I should know I am half-Native american and 1/34 Shefard and 1/4 Azkinaz...

  • I t MAY have had its origins in Russia but it is a JEWISH song about playing a balalaika! That it how it is. Nice guitar playing, incidentally.

  • wow ... very nice :) ... plz upload the scores or tabs of this song. thx!

  • It isn't Jewish, it's Yiddish.

  • It is Jewish, and sung in Yiddish.

  • I will add my voice to re-confirm that this is a Jewish folk song; but I understand Russians like it too.

  • A young lad is thinking, thinking all night

Would it be wrong, he asks, or maybe right,

Should he declare his love, dare he choose,

And would she accept, or will she refuse?

    Chorus:

    Tumbala, tumbala, tumbalalaika,

    Tumbala, tumbala, tumbalalaika

    tumbalalaika, play Balalaika,

tumbalalaika - let us be merry.

  • A young lad stands, and he thinks

Thinks and thinks a whole night

Whom to take and not to shame

Whom to take and not to shame

    Tumbala, Tumbala, Tumbalalaika

    Tumbala, Tumbala, Tumbalalaika

    Tumbalalaika, strum balalaika

    Tumbalalaika, may we be happy

  • It's a Jewish song.

It's about a young man wondering if he should ask his secretly loved girl to marry him

  • you got to go a tiny bit slower so the tune can be just right

  • Yeah your right,, I realise I was going too fast,,, Thanks!

  • Beautifully played! =) Thank you!

  • sounds clean

  • soooo fucking LEET! :O 5/5

  • Not Russian but Jewish. Awesome playing!

  • Thanks !! :D :D

  • @Grerion: Not only Jewish, but Yiddish! :-)

  • @Grerion Yes, of course, even word "balalaika" is very ancient jewish word

  • @adamasify have you heared of yyedish? because that's in yeddish

  • @Grerion In order to be more correct this is Yiddish song. Yiddish is mix of Hebrew, German and Slavic languages.

  • @Grerion Russian AND Jewish, actually ! Have a look at "chim chim cheree" by the Sherman Brothers of Russian Jewish parents, and you'll see that it really sounds the same !

  • Mazel tov I hear Yiddish ancestors kvelling. Love that tune!

  • TERRIFIC PLAYING! THANX!
