In Kabbalah meditation you have inward meditation, which is about simply self reflecting. You have Outward meditation, which is seeing how our environment affects us and how we affect it. We have visualization meditation, where you focus on a Aleph Beth or symbol. We have trance like meditation, and many other forms.
