@JimboGee1234 LMAO.....go brush your scungey teeth, if you support the NSA run and controlled Google and youtube and their totalitarian criminal tactics its no wonder you lick the queens in bred vaginal opening.
@JimboGee1234 you like to play with the big boys huh ?maybe you should go play with Hollie Grieg and branch out a little ....listen ...stick to your video games you liverpudlian gobshite and go lick Prince Charlies balls in his dungeon, you frakin limeys are tits on a boar, worthless for the most part. Go Bow to your Royal vampiric germanic Saxe coburg Gotha rulers and maybe your balls will drop and you can get laid, BTW, it might help if you get your teeth fixed first, your lost in a lost world.
@JimboGee1234 thanks for the laugh....how you gleaned I was complaining about capitalism....i dont know, but ive seen more delusional responses than your own, if one understands linguistics and reading comprehension,,,,in your statement about Dylan never giving his music away for free, it seems as if your complaining about Dylan not giving his music away for free, the problem with YT is WMG.
This song shows us how we justify our evil doings (killings, war, man's inhumanity to man) by claiming that this is what God wants. It is a supreme irony. We do evil in the name of God.
The point I believe Dylan is making is every man is individual and can have God on his side, regardless of the atrocities man brings thru war, etc.. Further, each man in a fallen world must deal with hatred within and without. He needs God, and often doesn't think he does until he must fight...
Probably the most imporrtant song ever written. The song tells of hundreds of years of suffering, with the theme being that all war is justified by religion. Why does Christianity survive? Because Bishops of every country tell their young folk to kill other young folk, and the reward for the Church is Rememberance Sunday and the Cenotaph. Fuck Off God, if this is what your servants preach. Thanks Bob.
I agree with you. But i think the whole point of the song is that God is actually not an excuse to justify war. When he talks about Judas betraying Jesus with a kiss and asks us to decide whether God was on his side, he's basically saying that God was not on Judas' side and God was never on the side of war.
@FloppyNINA no, god planned it that jesus should be betrayed by his friend, otherwise no sacrifice, no redemption, no nothin. Honestly, i don't think bob dilan is saying god did or did not like war, as he is a atheist. he is saying that the USA is built on the hypocrisy that god is on their side, coupled with some pretty atrocious inhumanities that the christian god would not approve of, if you beliebe in that.
The song is an epic crucifiction of religions and war certainly, but the killer for God is in the last verse (6:30). No matter on who's side, if god exists he will stop the next war, but of course he didn't.
i heard my mother sing thi song. it was so revolutionary. the last time i saw bob dylan, he didnt want to be there. i wished it were as passionate as b4. but his songs really helped form our personality as a nation.
Music Great.
