No, Mark was never shot! However, he was kidnapped several times, was trapped and almost buried in two separate mine cave-ins, had anthrax, typhoid fever and chicken pox, almost died of dehydration in the desert, was temporarily paralyzed from the waist down after falling off his horse, got a concussion after falling and hitting his head on a rock, almost drowned in quicksand, was almost bitten by rattlesnakes on a couple of occasions, and almost fell off of a cliff! Whew! Poor kid!
