  • What's an Atari?

  • @8BitBastard Well-played, my good man.

  • Too bad Alan Alda was a liberal idiot. His deadpan kitsch wore off quick too.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel As opposed to a backwater conservative who is against any race than their own. Maybe you're talking about the conservatives who are completely against gay marriage.

At least his thinking is progressive and he actually gives two fucks about the human race.

  • @uzuhl2 Is your point about race or sexual preference?

  • @uzuhl2

Yeah, all Conservatives are racist or something and don't give a toss about the human race. Blah. Blah. Blah. We've heard it all before. It's the left-wing swan song. No one cares about it anymore and it's doing them more harm than good. The Alinskyites think demonizing their enemies still works. I actually liked Alda in M.A.S.H., so I'm not a blind hater like you. What's this about Gay Marriage? No one cares about Social Issues right now. That's boutique politics, I don't engage in it

  • @MrCorporalTunnel Gay marriage was an example given to show the simplest issue cannot be agreed on by a conservative. Conservatives right now are absolutely running our country into the ground; not only have they lowered our credit rating with their piss poor excuse for an economic plan. Maybe it's their plan of raising taxes on the poorest of the poor that I don't agree with. It could also be their stupid government contracts with their own money grubbing companies that don't do anything good.

  • @uzuhl2

Gay marriage is a boutique issue and really of no significance one way or the other. The left uses it to paint their opposition as 'bigoted', and the right uses it to paint their opposition as 'immoral.' Those that get caught up in this pointless debate only do so because ultimately they are just trying to push their own worldview.

  • @uzuhl2

That you believe 'Conservatives' caused our downgrade is to ignore the history of the last 2 decades. Our present predicament is the result of the real estate bubble pop which led to a deflationary contraction in our economy. All of us share a role in what happened. The repeal of the Glass-Steagall act during the Clinton Administration was the impetus to all of the bad lending that happened following it's repeal.

  • Raising Taxes on the poorest of the poor? There are no such Conservative plans to do that. However, there are plans by Democrats to do this in the form of Cap and Trade legislation, who's costs will ultimately be paid by end consumers and there are fiat dollars circulating in the system printed by Bernanke and distributed by the Obama administration in the form of Stimulus and Bank Bailouts. As a result, commodity prices have skyrocketed and consumers are stuck with higher food and fuel prices.

  • @uzuhl2

Ultimately, the debate boils down to what you and I think the proper role of government is. I don't spend time demonizing my enemies and blaming them for everything like you do. I prefer to give honest political analysis. The problem for Obama and his minions right now is that High Unemployment, High Food and Gas prices, the downgrade and everything else that's falling apart right now is happening on their watch and this is after they tried Stimulus, bailouts and 2 rounds of QE.

  • @uzuhl2

Obama owns this economic mess. It's not that it's all his fault, it's just that he failed to lead us out of it and actually made things worse. People are already reflecting their dissatisfaction with Obama's big government interventions. He has a 26 percent approval rating on the economy. These are not numbers that will get him re-elected. That is why he and his followers have resorted to finger-pointing and would love to start a social issue war to scare their voters to the polls.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel Never said he did good, in fact, I'm going to vote for someone different because of the way he's handled it.

The Republicans don't exactly have the highest rating in terms of overall approval either, you know.

  • @uzuhl2

These 'Congressional approval' and 'Party approval' polls are (almost) meaningless. People are more than happy to express their derision at abstract entities, but this doesn't boil down to any electoral reality or is predictive of elections. Polling for Individual politicians is a different story, though. It's easy to blame abstract things and there is no sentimental cost to it. Reasonable people don't like judging individuals too harshly, though.

  • @uzuhl2

I would look at the Individual Senate/House races. This will tell you the story. That Obama's approval is down is a bigger problem for Democrats than Congressional or Republican approval because his compatriots in Congress won't have Obama's coattails to ride if Obama's people stay home.

  • @uzuhl2

To close on gay marriage, sure, give it to them. It's not going make any difference. Maybe then we can get on to the real issues like this nation's survival.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel Marriage is just a ceremony.

  • @Luigi84289

    'Marriage is just a cermony.'

Only if you're a Nihilist or something and fantasize about offing yourself because everything means nothing to you. I am misanthropic too, but will say that the only thing in this life that pleases me is my 'significant other' and our children and your comment is bunk, but this isn't a personal thread or anything.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel What are you nuts? That's what it is. You would deny reality? My comment is only bunk to a delusional mind.

  • @Luigi84289

It's hard to give up Nihilism once you've drank the Koolaid. That's fine, though. If you want to be cynical and discontented, I will not stop you because I am that myself only not to as much of a degree. I agree that certain things may be devoid of meaning in an abstract context but not necessarily in a personal context. You fail to differentiate and I can only imagine that you are a sad person because of that. JMHO. I don't get out much either, so I can't talk. Cheers.

  • @uzuhl2 A liberal saying that conservatives don't give two fucks about the human race. The same type of liberal and progressive who were adamant supports of eugenics way back when... for what purpose was that? Oh yeah, to weed out inferior members of the human race. A liberal/progressive in favor of abortion? So much for equal dignity of mankind. uzuh, you don't know what you're talking about.

  • LMFAO "Men and women", wow they were just as politically correct back then as now

  • @Slacktoo

Exactly. By the way some twenty-somethings talk today, you would have thought they invented 'equality for all' arguments. That women were still in the kitchen back in the 80's and Jim Crow laws still prevailed. We were well on our way to an 'enlightened society' back then.

  • atari forever

  • what's a type writer old guy go masterbath in your room ok whats masterbath

  • "Kids, learn to type...don't be like Radar"

  • @KHayes666 radar had a deformed hand. Seriously.

  • @FlyingBootable Yes I know, Gary Burghoff was born with it.

  • Its funny how things change as back in the 70's Atari was a big a Mikeysoft and had things been different it could have been that everyone was using "Atari" software on their Pc but good old Bill G had the vision and out right balls to make MS what it is today!..Having said all that Atari deserves its place in history...

  • "Just a little yeah, why don't you fix that."

"All men are created equal. Women are bitches."

    Alda's going gangsta on us!

  • man, these were the kind of games my aunt and grandmother would get me for christmas. frickin horrible...

  • Boy Atari sure did make the typewriter obsolete. There was an Atari in every office.

  • Sir, you gotta niiiiice daughter. Care I take ´er out fer dinner and show her my "Typewriter"?

  • I find it odd...the rest of the cast was spokespeople for IBM, but the main start went for the competitor..

  • HEY that young girl is messing with the Declaration of Independence... Everyone, GET HER!!!!

  • @flybydeath ...nah, let her get more creative...."these united colonies are... are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown ...on condition that Sunday shall become "Naked Day"...that the office of president shall be given the title 'Grand Uber-Cheese', and that the national anthem is only ever performed on kazoos. And for the support of this declaration...we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

    Oh, and no fat chicks.

  • omg! move whole groups of words around!? :D

  • @flash2303

You have no idea what a pain in the ass that kind of operation is on a typewriter...

  • @TheGreatAtario You mean belittling the Declaration of Independence?

  • Before my time.

  • He called that greenbar paper with the perforated edges "stationary." Alan Alda, you medical/scientific/comedic genius.

  • "What's a typewriter?" Wow, that was prophetical.

  • @CalebMTurberville Indeed, one of my elementary school students asked me that the other day.

  • radar's dog's name was ranger.

  • Safranverre - Ha! That's EXACTLY what I was referring too! That was a good episode, and I just always thought that story he was telling was so funny.

So, you're a M*A*S*H freak too, huh? Okay, friend, I always have one test question to tell if someone is REALLY a M*A*S*H freak.....

Okay, here is the question: What is the name of Radar's dog back on the farm in Iowa? This is not a trick question - Radar actually mentioned it in an episode...

    tick-tock, tick-tock.....

  • its to bad nintendo made atari absolete...

  • Good printers made typewriters obsolete.

  • If they wanted to show off a word processor, where was the rest of the document?

  • is that the guy from the tv show M.A.S.H.

  • yeah he played hawkeye.

  • yes

  • @harley10030 I'm not usually a person to say things like this, but 'Duh!"

  • @harley10030 Correct. Chief Surgeon Captain Benjamin Franklin Hawkeye Pierce of the 4077 M*A*S*H

  • @harley10030 yep. he was also in pretty woman.

  • @harley10030 yes. he played Hawkeye.

  • Looks like he was WRONG about the typewriters, eh?

Hey, Alan, you got it WROOOONNNGGG!

  • Ah no, computers did make typewriters obsolete...

  • Are you quoting that one episode of M*A*S*H when Hawkeye got a head wound and was stuck in that Korean house? He was describing his Math teacher and how "understand" she was when he got a problem wrong. I love that part if so!

  • That's the part. Great episode! I always remember the way he said that and it is so funny. I actually say it that way sometimes ( I don't overdo it) when I'm with my friends and they get something wrong. They probably hate me for it, but it's so funny I can't help it.

    You got it wrooooong!

Haha, that's a terrible teacher to say that!

  • Hawkeye: The Atari might make the typewriter obsolete!

Little girl born probably in 1977 before seeing a typewriter: Whats a typewriter?

    Hawkeye: See?

  • I think the reason he pointed was to say that women shouldn't be included in that equality statement if they're stupid enough not to know what a typewriter is... ;)

  • I agree

  • only stupid people agree with stupid comments

  • only lonely people take the time to tell people they're stupid

  • you're stupid. =(

  • aww *hug
