This figure is so amazing that I too am torned on it. I really love the Animated character for all of his personality while the Prime Bulkhead hasn't been developed enough. The Prime Bulkhead's toy is so much better than even the Leader Animated Bulkhead. Great review and I love the enthusiasm.
@cakedup83 completely agree. I loved Animated bulkead's character, but never really dug the toys. While i dig the little bit of characterization we've gotten for Prime Bulkhead, I almost fear that we wont get much for him, given where he's positioned in all the shot of the autobot cast on all the packaging. @cakedup83 I dont know if he's half transclearent in the RID line. We havent seen pictures of the new one. I'll be honest, even though i'm getting the First edition PRime, i've warmed up to the RID voyager Prime, all he needs is a little bit of paint and a different gun.
As far as bulkhead goes, try getting the Takara first edition one or asking a canadian on TFW2005 to send you one. Keep in mind though, voyagers in canada are $35 (canadian dollars) & then you have to add tax and shippin
@zizzlerizzle8707 After seeing a detailed series of pictures on the Powerizer Prime, I am going to wait until Hasbro either pulls their heads from their tookuses and reissues the FE Prime or they make a quality Leader class figure. I can paint the PP version and give him a new gun, but the clear plastic just doesn't have the durability of normal plastic so I worry about him standing the test of time.
@cakedup83 agreed. Hasbro really f'd up the whole first edition thing by limiting their distibution in the US to toys r us's. While thats a nationwide store, it's still only one fo the big 3 brick-and-mortar retailers they usually use (the other 2 being Target and Walmart). I'm just happy that the mainline prime figures are hitting target as well. also a lot fot he mianline figures that aren't clouded by existing FE versions look awesome
@zizzlerizzle8707 Tformers.com just posted an article about Hasbro's failed attempt at the first edition line. I sent an email last week to them explaining my frustrations. Hopefully I will be able to cut and paste the response sooner rather than later.
@Questlyfe he is indeed great. the takara version looks nice indeed, but i'm content wiht this version. Now if i could get the entertainment 2pack of prime and megs for a decent price, that'd be good. oh and if my voyager prime would come off pre-order

...i have a working theory that their placement in that lineup is indicative of the characterization they'll get in the show.
All that being said, this toy is way better than the animated ones, or even the original Bulkhead toy and character from energon/superlink.
