I'd suggest everyone read the Wikipedia article about female genital cutting to see how much of a widespread problem this is. Millions (!) of girls are affected by this every year and both the actual procedure as well as the long-term consequences are (more often than not) beyond insane.
While Type I and II FGC are bad on their own, I'd go as far as considering Type III FGC as an actual crime against humanity.
@xomiakas Its different in that male circumcision does have a slight practical use - cleanliness. It's also a lot less risky. And a good amount of female circumcision actually sews up partial, or even the entire vagina entrance - which means the only way to have sex/children later is to have it reopened. So yeah, there are a LOT of differences. Please educate yourself before making a comment like that again.
