I remember it was hard to find this album when I was teenager. All of us had some songs of The Blood, (like Stark Raving Normal or Mesrine) on some compilations but no one had the album. And then, when I finally got ''False gestures'', I was amazed and stunned at once. I didn't like to compare bands or albums like it was some competition, but when I've heard it for the first time I simply knew- this is pedestal of UK 82 Punk. It was 10 steps ahead.

Damn this shit rocks! One of my favorite punk bands for many years. First heard "Megalomaniac" and "Stark raving normal" on a couple OI! comps in the 80's. Every few years I would find another song on a comp and it was like finding a lost treasure. It took many years before I actually found the whole record. In the 90's I was visiting London and went to see a punk/Oi! show. A sign was posted on the door that said "special guest tonight 'The Blood'" I almost lost my mind when they didn't show up.

JJ Bedsore (RIP) hands down easily the best guitarist in punk rock. I have loved this band for almost 20 years.Perfect melding of Oi and punk.False Gestures for a Devious Public is one of the best records to come out of the punk scene.How bands like the Clash and Sex Pistols got massive coverage,and bands like Anti Nowhere League and Blood and Vibrators didn't is insane to me.
