  • love the way he sings the word 'head'!

  • omfg Boz dancing with his guitar in the background is both hilarious and awesome. xD

  • Lad in red over powered Morrissey.

  • Does the Moz look....happy? It's a GREAT clip, never seen him so energetic, thanks for posting!

  • The idiot in the red shirt with the white Gretsch knocked himself totally out of tune with his antics.

  • 2:43. Boz has moves.

  • Sexy, sexy, sexy...I LOVE HIM!

  • fuck me he is sex!

  • I remember watching this when I lived in L.A. ... Bill Cosby came out holding a chair covering his ass after meeting Morrissey in the green room. It was funny. The lines to get into NBC's Burbank studios to see Morrissey were several blocks long. It made the evening news. Great post ... Thanks.

  • God I absolutely adore this man

  • He is SO SEXY. <3

  • I saw this live! Anytime Carson or anybody else would say Morrissey the crowd would scream.

  • The WORST dancer ever! The BEST Morrissey songs ever!

  • November Spawned a Monster Look... Great!

  • Anyone else's butt hurt after watching his performance of Sing Your Life?

  • I strongly DISagree with those who love his rockability period. Because he's Moz (after all), he still made some wonderful songs, but only a few complete, solid albums (IMO). Vauxhall was a work of genius but not rockability, it's sounds hearkened back to something more again to Viva Hate or even Strangeways with its songs like "Spring-Heeled Jim". And the other albums and B-sides I've liked from his solo career the most were not rockabilly but things like "I have forgiven Jesus"... cont'd...

  • 0 Dislikes. Coincidence? I think not.

  • dont he look fab!

  • Sounds a touch like Stray Cats

  • haha this is awesome!

  • The guy in the red shirt was really feelin' this song!!!

  • @Criszzilla Boz Boorer? Yea, he was in the Polecats, so rockabilly is his terrain. ;)

  • @Reint25

    Cool.

  • I thought this was 92?

  • People say moz is misrable.Well I can't think of anything that cheers me up like this man sining.Thumb up u agree.

  • @amberstar39 I saw him perform about an hour after England got knocked out of the World Cup (2006). He lifted me to a higher plane that night: he is magical...

  • Fuck this was the day I was born :0

  • Maybe it's just the sound quality, but the songs as presented are bested by Johnny's theme music. I do like the guitar and the flitting about, but Morrissey's singing was not on top of his game this night.

  • Ahhhhh, the Tonight Show Them by the NBC Orchestra! I miss that.

  • miss that gretsch sound in his live shows....

and of course, those hair days that we all had then......priceless

    cheers

  • This clip is of relative good quality.

However, you edited out the best part, where Carson turns to Bill Cosby and says, "Did you ever see anybody tear it up like that?"

  • @marlonbarnes morrissey is in the music world what carson was in t.v. a legend...they both will never be forgotten

  • Beautiful.

  • Love this line up... dare I say it.. better than The Smiths!

Boz, Alain, Spencer, Gary and Moz. QUALITY STAMPED ALL OVER IT!!

  • @wiganowl05 You're right HOW DARE YOU! There has never been a more creative partnership than Morrissey and Marr.

  • I love it, you can tell most of the audience showed up for Morrissey :)

  • I love it, you can tell most of the audience showed up for Morrissey :)

  • Great shirt.

  • Damn who was this drummer? He's great.

  • Spencer Corbin....

  • Thanks.

  • @moraleclipse looks like spencer cobrin.

  • What a Dapper Fellow

  • its all jazzy and swingy in this version!

  • That's the happiest I've ever seen Moz! Goofy even! ha! Love it!

The guy with the red shirt is too funny!

  • the hip gyrations are pretty outstanding. i think the guy in the red shirt is a very young boz.

  • Rad fade, mozzer.

  • moz can sway his hips like that on me!

  • 4:30 PARA TODOS LOS AMIGOS!!!!:)

  • It's going to be a lot of crying Morrissey.

  • uhhhhhhhh,he is...so.....and the band is also great

  • thats guitarists dancing ha ha

  • this is his best period after Smiths, when he tought to be Elvis.

  • My hero

  • Lovin' that Morrissey Shake...=D

  • guitar is way outta toon, 'orrible. mozza is on good form tho

  • You know what I'd like to know? Who called who. "Moz? Boz Boorer. Back you up on tour?" or "Boz? Moz. Back me up on tour?" Because this is the most genius combination of talent I've seen in I don't know how long. Fucking dynamite. Nobel Prize material.

  • omg! love it!

  • love that squiggly morrissey dance.

  • I remember this well and it was nice to see it again. What I remember the most was the crowd just going ape shit! LOL

  • First time I've found Alain a bit sexy.

As for Morrissey an his dancing... oh it just strengthens my love for that man :)

  • sing your life!

all the things that you learned n love

  • I bet the audience was filled with Morrissey fans instead of Carson fans. He was probrably wondering why all these young kids are at his show.

  • head-a oohh heada ooaaooh!!!

  • fantastic...

    don't leave it all unsaid

somewhere in the wasteland of your head

    sing your life

  • I don't think Johnny Carson knows what to think of that.

  • I wish I had saw this when it first aired. What a great clip!

  • I did, and it seemed utterly bizarre to see Morrissey in such a mainstream context. Johnny and guest Bill Cosby clearly had no idea who he was, they just knew that the audience wouldn't stop screaming throughout the show.

  • lol fucking boz trying to steal the spotlight in the background.

  • Carson vs the Mozz. Classic.

  • Man, Has it been that long since the Smiths? Carson still held the floor. This is a Gretsch overload. Somebody play lead, Please?

  • wat are these comments mean lol xx

  • so much great hair in this video.

  • Bill Cosby found them offensive

  • Is there anything that Bill Cosby doesn't find offensive?

  • like richard pryor told eddie murphy

tell bill to go fuck himself

  • @fregelover Pudding Pops?

  • Awesome performance...and both of these songs are much better in their live, "rockabilly" versions. It must have been so cool to see them in this venue.

  • indeed, love this version!

  • @Genkimark This was my favorite Morrissey era, when he went rockabilly.

  • Incredible stail...ever!!!

  • incredible, the fact that it was recorded on vhs makes it more nastolgic.

  • Wow! Look at Boz go towards the end of Sing Your Life!

  • Yeah!

  • nice virsion of "there's a place.."

  • god he looks and sounds delicious as always

  • Oh man this reminds me of high school. I remember seeing this. Thanks for posting
