  • I have that doll

  • they had better pools for barbie then now its a pool that barbie can only sit in its not even anywere near a pool more like a kiddie pool now...i wish i had this pool

  • " Pretend shes throwing a part : WOW sounds fun ( sarcastic )

  • It is not a party when you are the host and the guests. xD Sorry Barbie.

  • When I was a kid I had to pretend that a plastic bowl was a pool and vhs tapes were beds and shoe boxes were cars no lie

  • When I was a kid I had 3 Barbies and 1 Ken, but when we played we "had" up to 20, with pool parties in inexistent pool etc. That's called Imagination, something often taken away from modern kids :(

  • I always wanted one of these.

  • SHES HAVING A POOL PARTY ALONE?

  • this is what happens when u havee broke friends with no cool toys fingers become fun:)

  • Why is Barbie the only one at her pool party?

  • 1. woosh down the slide? Lol need I say more?

    2. Pretend Barbie is throwing a pool party? Well, you would need more than one Barbie in the pool in order to do that....

  • Wow, when the finger ppl show up you know it's a party.....

  • no to small bikinie for barbie :??

  • "Sun bathe in the flouting chair"I dont think barbie should sun bathe anymore.

  • I would make my barbies do cannon balls all day if I had that pool. :D

  • Wow. We had this and the Barbie camping set. Never realized they were both from 1973. (They lasted well into the 1980's when I sold all of my Barbie stuff for 14.00 at a garage sale ;__; )

  • did anyone else hear the little blond girl say "wow i like that!"

  • I hope she dives in the shallow end and breaks her neck.

  • I love how they just kinda poke her at 0:19

  • WATCH ME MAKE BARBIE JUMP OF THE BOARD ~dunk~

  • lol I love that the newer Barbie pools are even simpler than this :P Heck the new ones aren't even wide or deep enough for a doll, let alone a floating chair!

  • @alexbabs12345 that's cause they're afraid that will encourage drowning lol

  • Hahahahahahah, Barbie and her one-person pool party, LOL. Oh, I forgot, the little girl's fingers showed up too, but it still doesn't count as a person.

  • I don't remember that pool. My Barbie pool was orange and inflatable, and it had furniture to go with it. Then again, it may have been a generic "fashion doll" pool made by some other company.

  • wow.... right now my little 6 year old sister is playing on the ipad and watching t.v. Things change quickly

  • She's all by herself...some pool party indeed lol.

  • FWOOSH down that slide

  • Have you never heard of a hot tub, girl?

  • Little Brown haired girl-Wow, you like that!!! ( 0:11 ) LMAO!

  • My mom had this. :)

  • I used to always hate the words 'sold separately'..LOL

  • I had one of these! Of course part of the fun in simple toys like these was building elaborate settings around them using household items. (I used a bunch of white towels to make a ski resort and had this be the hot tub.)

It was nothing compared to the elaborate townhouse I built out of diaper boxes, but still... When you're poor you gotta be creative.

  • Those Gurls Must Be in there 40s or 50s

  • @TheSteph1999 I'd tap it!

  • @nrwilliams015 WTH!

  • i love it how barbie is the only 1 at the party.

  • ... wonr barbie go black on her face it happed to my barbie's when they were in the water

  • That's some swell party...she's all alone! lol

  • God, I would of loved having this. All my barbies used to swim in lunchbox tubs. I never needed anything but a couple of barbies to keep me amused :')

  • what an awesome party i thought barbie was popular why is she alone at her party? were they to cheap to get a ken midge allan and skipper

  • whoosh!

  • a pool party by herself?

  • I was ten in this commercial, the dark haired girl is Melissa sue Anderson from Little House on the Prairie. It was great being a kid in the seventies!

  • kids nowdays would get bored after 5 seconds.

  • I still have this one from the 1st year it came out...her head has been trying to fall off for about 35 years.

  • kids need to use there imagination

  • I got my Malibu barbie remake last year she is my favourite

  • always swim with a buddy loner barbie

  • "hey barbie im coming in too"

  • i have malibu barbie

  • I agree with @brownsugah66, even though I'm only 15, growing up, toys were simpler than they are now. My parents bought me barbie dolls, and I would use my imagination and make up stories and play for hours. Now it's like unheard of to do that, because we must keep the children's minds stimulated, otherwise they end up going down the wrong path in life. What a load of crap.

  • @mtrenchgirl I know! Almost everything practically works on its own, while the kid just has to watch. I remember playing with my plastic toy horses for hours and hours. My favorite 'story' to act out was rescuing a horse falling off a cliff.

  • wow i want this

  • if i was barbie, and i heard "HEY BARBIE IM COMING IN TOO" and a hand fly outta nowhere, id probably shit my pants

  • make her whoosh down the slide!!!lol

  • Watch Barbie do coke on the side of the pool. So much fun!

  • funny.

    A pool party, inside?

well dah, a barbie would drown in a proper OUTDOOR pool, like one of mine did :(

  • It seems like a lot of the Barbie items from the 70's were the color orange....

  • My Barbie was happy swimming in the bathtub or the sink.

  • i loved this and kids are happy now too ok

  • If this is a party, then where are Barbies friends? Sad.

  • @skarah1313 well maybe she didnt invite midge XD

  • @skarah1313 barbie is forever alone :C

  • omg I HAVE THAT!! my mom got it when she was little~

  • "hey barbie, I'm coming to get you!" lol

  • they always make it look like so much fun in te commercials

  • don't ever give barbie a bath... did it to 6 of my barbies and 2 kens... their hair were never the same as before...

  • @KayHeL i did it before it was fine~

  • It would have been an opportunity to sell additional dolls, but the girl just used her fingers instead.

  • what of that girl drowned barbie O_O

  • Oy wey ... Poor Malibu Barbie has a new pool, yet nobody came to her party in this commercial ... Though there were Malibu Ken, Skipper, PJ, and even Christie ... They must have partied somewhere else ... Maybe at

  • they sale that barbie still

  • @taysity yea they do

  • DUH ... The REPRODUCTION of the initial Malibu Barbie was part of last year's Mattel collector's line ... Just fyi ...

  • :0 her name was MALIBU BARBIE ?!?!?!?!

  • I have this one but its a new one.The pools are bigger.

  • simple yet effective :3 *grasps at computer screen* MUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSST HAAAAAAAAAAVE!!

  • I NEED THIS!!!!

  • My mom give me this!!! I used to play with LPS and Nopets with it :P (altrought I still play with LPS at my age)

  • ***neopets. But I played with it when I was like 4-5-6 (not sure?)

  • I use to play with my barie's in my own pool so what's the point of thsi toy anyway, I use it with Swim to me Puppy. it's a toy that came out in 2009. it doesn't come with it's own pool.

  • OMG! I totally had something like this... I wonder where it is...

  • Probably in a landfill somewhere... :'(

  • Funny

  • Make her WHOOSH down the slide!

  • Lol barbie is a loooonnnnneerrrrrr

    hehe

  • *fred voice singing* If you're gonn throw a party make sure you actually have friends.

  • @pixeegrace Well...she`s always got that girls fingers to join her...

  • Yes, watching Barbie float in an orange chair is SOOOOOOOOO fun. Hours of occupation there, folks. ;)

  • LOL!

  • @itachifan1243 It was in the 70's my friend. Allllllll night!

  • hahaha....

    ancient....

    i love these old commercials..

  • i have a lot of 70s barbies there..diffrent

  • lol

  • the girl pretending shes goin in the pool with barbie looks so retarded...

  • In our childhood days toys were so simplistic and we loved them.Today the toys have so many attachments or parts and are quite elaborate. These kids never seem to be be happy with what they get nowadays

  • @brownsugah66

That's not true. Toys may be different now but that doesn't mean the kids who get them are ungrateful.

  • @brownsugah66

You're generalizing. If you were born in the seventies, I'm a lot younger than you and I was just happy playing with cardboard boxes when I was a kid. This generation is not messed up just because it's not the generation you grew up in... it's just different.

  • @AmeliaJane74 actually I wasn't born in the 70's I was born before that and yes it is different there are more material things for people to want..... and many people in my time growing up did not have exorbitant incomes to buy a lot of frivolous things. For example many people did not have TV's or family cars as they do today. If you had a TV you were lucky and it you did have one it was black and white.

  • .Air conditioning? what was that ... that was a luxury item you stuck your head out of the window of the car and let the wind beat down on you ....don't think I'm generalizing...

  • @brownsugah66 We had "240" air condiotioning: 2 windows down, 40 miles an hour. :)

  • I think we will agree to disagree

  • Anyone else recognize the girl in red as a pre-Little House on the Prairie Melissa Sue Anderson?

  • Yeah I recognize that girl!

  • My mom gave me ALL of her barbies that she had!

  • My mommy gets the old camper (country camper)

and that pool she gave the camper and the pool to me :D

  • I didn't have the pool,so i put her in the bathtub i called it Barbie olympic pool.

  • hey I had one of thoes too!

  • lol. imaginative!

  • I HAD IT!!

  • really?
