flame me all you want, but i'm sorry. she doesn't deserve to win x factor. at. all. she is a faker, she is a one trick pony, and to be perfectly honest, she would have gotten picked up without X Factor. people like Josh Kracjik or Chris Rene definitely would not have because of their looks. Melanie is pretty, and talented. I'm not disagreeing with that. But I don't think that she should have even been back on the show, since Simon kicked her off in the first place. they should send her ass home.

Im from st.lucia and can refine my accent when needs be..if you dont have a strong accent and have lived somewhere where that accent isnt widely spoken..then get in touch with what it is to be different..if u can smooth down your accent 2 make it easier 4 certain people to understand u..then go ahead..i wish to see more west indians on american television with accents..the british have many caribbean tv shows..its time 2 let loose our accents and be confident especially outdoors :) GO MELANIE!!

First and foremost , she is my favorite in the competition. As a Latino I don't use my accent. I can, I guess. Don't know her point in talking with an accent if she has not till now.

I'm not sure if she's a fake now. I'm just perplexed. Was this a show to gain favor.

Week after week she has been my favorite.

@TheWillieG I think she stood out to me since Stacy is now gone.I do think that show was to show what is important or their valunerable side so we can see who they really are and gain more votes cause to me they all had a sob story when you really think about it. So I wouldnt say fake id say finally showimg where she came from and being proud

Thank you, someone with sense! Everyone is seeing it in a negative light. You can see the weight that was lifted once she says that this was the real her. I love her, and i love her even more now. It is sad that she felt she had to cover her accent to fit in, and especially in this competition; but with good reason, because look at all the negativity that has come from this. If someone is a true fan, this should be water under the bridge, shes still melanie. the 19 yr old sweetheart.

@lordofkronos Actually no, one of my friends that went to high school with her for three years said she was shocked when she saw it tonight, because she had no idea she had an accent. She wanted to fit in when she moved here, and the way to do that was to alter her voice, it really isn't that weird.

@gatewayvi24 Oh I dont think I had mentioned that she was from St.Thomas I just said that I have family in St. Thomas. I thought she said that she was from the Virgin Islands. I didnt realize that she grew up in the British Virgin Islands but its still the Virgin Islands either way just not the US Virgin Islands. My mother kept telling me that she was Hispanic so I didn't even know she was from there until today and thanks for telling me the name of the Island which is Tortola appreciate it
