People only assume the Joker is what "screwed up Heath Ledger" because Jack fucking Nicholson made a mistake by implying that playing the Joker caused him trouble. He understood that the character was a sociopathic and psycho one, and he was his normal self while commenting on that.

I do not think anyone knows whether or not the Joker had anything to do with Heath's death. I read before he took on the role as the joker, Heath was depressed because of his break-up with Michelle. I also read that Heath not seeing his daughter as often as he wanted also contributed to some depression. I agree with Bale on this one, no one knows anything about his personal life.
