  • @4:08 IS EPIC AS HELL... HE IS A BEAST

  • i hate how people hate cops they think their cool if they fought cops without cops everything is destroyed

  • Insane log press!

  • Do pro-heavyweight strongmen use steroids? yes... could you be as strong or as big as them if you did? No because you're a pussy and dont know the meaning of training hard

  • Wow, I just started searching where the 46&2 started coming from. It took me several times to press the pause button to make sure I wasn't trippin' ballz. :D Nice choice of music dude.

  • Fact is there are lots of guys in this world on gear, but every year only one guy is named Worlds Strongest Man.... I cant say if Poundstone is or is not on gear. I dont know him personally, but of all the dudes out there who pump massive amounts of pharmecuticals very few can compete at his level... All the juice comments just downplay the dedication, commitment, and sacrifice that true Iron enthusiasts display and it pisses me off sometimes!

  • i cheered hard for Derek to beat Maurisz in WSM couple yrs back! one day man u will hold tht trophy above the rest

  • what is the name of the song?! aah!

  • @Kristjantheawesome

forty six & two by tool

  • this song fits the video very well.

  • People are dumb as hell, you have to work just as hard if not harder whilst cycling steroids to gain muscle. A body like that is built from years of hard work and dedication.

Although, I do not advocate nor indorse the use of steroids......to each his or her own.

  • who are the 13 asshole who disliked this video

  • Whats scarey is that this is 2007. Derek is much stronger now than he was 4 years ago. To the all the roid fanclub people, compare his body to marius pudzianowski, who did take steroids. Huge difference in tone, veins, etc. If Derek did use roids it was minor, he's got a solid die and a very active, hard working lifestyle. He is the future of power lifting.

  • is stronger that pudzianowski ?

  • @Waldozord its close but id say no, the thing that is always said by other strongmen is when you compete against pudzinowski is he has no weak event, every strongman has that one event there bad at or need to improve on and he has elimated that, thats what makes him so dangerous.

  • What's the first song that comes on. Thanks

  • @MoparKawi tool 46 & 2

  • @countryemt84

just to let you know there are legal anabolic steroids.

  • @imvincenzo10

Took the words right out of my mouth and he's the one calling people naive lol.

  • He's a cop...I bet there's no criminals in his town.

  • B.E.A.S.T.

  • Forty six & 2

  • True dedication, a true modern day beast. Steroids or not, he outworks everyone out there!!!

  • ROIDS....thats the universal comment made when someone has achieved through hard work and determination so much more then you could ever imagine........ HOW ABOUT DEDICATED!!!

  • @111CARPET Dedicated but still roids

  • @mobytoss Do you have any idea how many dedicated and roided up people this guy has decimated? Fuck you ignorant twat.

  • @mobytoss strongmen get constantly test none of them are on em

  • Comment removed

  • @111CARPET Definitely dedicated for sure. Eating that much food alone sucks ass, been there. BUT.... you're not remotely insinuating that this guy isn't on gear.... right? lol....

  • I was thinkin the same thing. A ripped 320 lb offensive lineman. NFL team scouts should be scoping these strongman competitions out.....

  • @doctortree420 psh yeah right the NFL only wants you if you have 320 pounds of fat! they don't care how strong or athletic you are they just want tall fat bastards. Strong athletic lineman don't stand a chance with the scouts.

  • Imagine if he was an offensive lineman....... that'd be one lucky qb.

  • i wanna see him throw a shotput

  • Imagine if he played football...

  • @xOneTrueGamer His strength doesn't necessarily mean that it is transferable to football, and nor do we know if he has the type of athletic skills to play football.

  • Watch this clip before every time I go to the gym. Inspiration

  • Derek Poundstone and Tool is a beastly combination.

  • If you have a HD version of this video, I would LOVE to keep it on my computer to watch all the time. Thanks again!

  • Hey man, FANTASTIC job with the video! Syncing everything up with the the Tool song like that! Watching this just got me so pumped up before hitting the gym.. time to go pimp some iron..

  • I really respect this man.

  • wow, i bet i can beet him in call of duty tho

  • ABSOLUTE BOULDER OF A MAN!

  • Comment removed

  • Only one word...Inspiring!

  • how come they don't get into olympic lifting? they do a lot of the same overhead presses but for some reason you never see them go to the olympics after winning strongman competitions. are these guys stronger or the olympic guys stronger or just completely different sports?

  • @jms8220

its an entirely different type of strength. its plain raw power as opposed to more technique in the olympics

  • @jms8220 you do make a valid point but there are alot of strongmen who have alot of history with olimpic lifting like mikhail koklyaev and the late jessie murende, who where and are two very very strong men. but olympic lifting is more technique rather than brute strength these guys have.

  • @czoraa21 ah, i see. that's the response i keep getting so ill take ur word for it

  • @jms8220 Most of the answers you have read are incorrect lol. Like the oylmpics most strongman events, some more then others, actually do require various amounts of technique. The major difference is power. Olympic lifts are all more power driven exercises. If you watch a clean and jerk or a snatch you'll notice that its momentum generated from the hips that does the bulk of the lifting in both lifts. Where as strongman events tend to balance strength technique and power.

  • true motivating video right here.

  • WOW, crazy! would love to be strong, but be fast as well. like tony jaa. strength of a bodybuilder, and speed of a tony jaa

  • Derek Poundstone is an inspiration.... I wish him the best of luck!

  • @Quote47 because america is a mixed country..everyone here is from another country..mexicans/asian for example...tons of genetic variety, european countries are as mixed so genes stay the same

  • i wouldn't want to piss this guy off.

  • What's the passage from 2:30 from?

  • YEah fucking TOOL!

  • total inspiration man, he is a beast!!

  • that was unreal

  • not the biggest but def the strongest!

  • @nickallah not if you caompare him to the european strongmen, in world strongest man he got no chance

  • @Quote47 Uh, actually he placed second at worlds stronget man in 2008 and lost in the final event to pudzianowski by one stone. not to mention that he was ahead before he dropped the stone. So I'd say that he's been pretty close the being the worlds strongest man, and that he had a pretty good chance. Dont talk if you dont know.

  • at the very end is the white zombie song....

  • whats this song called? cause its not "real solution #9"

  • this guys an animal

  • White Zombie? WTF?

    TOOL!!!

    Awesome song choice.

  • wow! nice to here a tool song in a video :D

  • damn 14 plate dead lift

  • this guy is my hero

  • ok thats either a perfect circle or tool playing in the background

  • wow im 13 only and i can lift a 400lb atlas stone max and no not lying btw i even did it before at a strongperson comp. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut youre really full of shit mate..

  • @kwezeltjuh1 No, I am not.

You just, like lots of others, fail to believe me. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut lol i on different video's i see video's of you commenting things that you can lift w/e and do w/e and all that on the age of 13 .. you're really full of shit....

  • @kwezeltjuh1 Okay.

Enjoy disbelieving the truth then! :)

  • @13andincrediblycut lol mate forreal , if you are really that strong , why won't you upload a vid? and dont say because i dont want to bragg about it because if you are forreal all the shit you've bin writing is pretty amazing soo.. upload a vid and we'll see

  • @kwezeltjuh1 That's what I'm going to do as soon as I get home internet back.

  • @13andincrediblycut let me know how that worksout foryou lol..

  • @kwezeltjuh1 Okay. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut oh yea i'm 11 and I can bench press 600 lbs for 4 reps and can lift a 500 lb atlas stone and then press it for reps..beat that

  • this doesn't sound like white zombie

  • thats my gym teachers fiance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Derek POUNDSTONE... perfect last name for a strongman!

  • Derek Poundstone is a GOD!

  • Where does he put his ipod? No way those little arn pockets fit around his arm...

  • this guy is my new role model

  • watching him put up that last atlas ball scared the piss out of me.

only because it looked like he was seconds away from dropping it =O

  • The name of the song is "Forty Six & 2 - Tool"

  • Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  • B.E.A.S.T

  • You have motivated me to do my 1st competition next month. Thank You!

  • I think I saw this guy on an episode of Beast Wars.

  • He really needs to fight a black bear or something

  • wdf wit d red ting :o

  • Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Lift weights for God and Jesus!

  • Why does everyone discus strongman competitors chances at MMA? Just let the man kick ass at his sport.

  • @OgreMECH It's because there's always some dumbass who says, "[insert bodybuilder or strength competitor] should du MMA!!1!" Then some idiot acknowledges the comment by giving the dumbass a complete dissertation on the different types of strength application.

  • @OgreMECH look at pudzianowski, just got his ass kicked by tim sylvia.. Strength got nothing to do in mma its all about the skills. love both these sports <3

  • @Hellem09 Why not ask how good at MMA Tiger Woods would be? Or Michael Jordan? Or Lance Armstrong? Why is it that only strongmen have to prove themselves at MMA? Well, Pudz took the bait and now we can all shut up about it.

  • @OgreMECH haven't said a shit about how "bad" strongman is, i love that sport, the thing i SAID is that everybody thinks if you got strength you can kick everybody's ass wich you can't. In mma it's all about the skills, not the strength. AND i haven't critizised any other athletes to prove themself in MMA

  • @Hellem09 strength has its place in fighting. thats why theres weightclasses. but an untrained guy like pudz who has the hands of a beginner boxer and who is way too big is obviously going to lose against a former UFC heavyweight champ. really the only reason people compare mma to strongman is because of the whole alpha male mentality. they see huge strong guys, immediately they associate that with fighting. realistically it makes no more sense to compare these guys as it does a golfer

  • @tillymaster44

Wrong. Physical strength and size is hugely advantageous for one involved in an altercation. Pudzianowski only has strength and size and he did not too badly against a guy who is a former world champion. People fail to see the reality of this: Pudzianowski's power and size helped him tremendously against one of the legends of the fight world. This speaks volumes about the advantages of strength and size.

  • @Hellem09

So a guy with almost no fighting skill (Pudzianowski) takes on a legend of combat sports and holds his own. And strength doesn't matter? In a street fight scenario, I'd still put my money on P. Listen, all he had was his strength and size, and it served him well. Imagine if he had fighting skill to go along with his power.

  • @TheTrueFortress Pudzianowski got a Black belt in karate so don't know what you're talking about ; ) Strength isn't all about fighting, a bigger man could get his ass kicked by a guy twice as small, strenght got probably 20% of the fighting game, the rest 80 % is skills and technique

  • @OgreMECH Man exactly ...MMA is cool but just let them do what they do and let others do what they do

  • @OgreMECH

Because clearly MMA buffs know, even if they won't admit it, that size and strength remains a true advantage in combat. Do these attributes translate to fighting skill? Of course not, but as I say, they are huge advantages. Plus, these strength athletes are clearly alpha males, so naturally all the lesser men want to call out their insecurities by gabbing about how such-and-such MMA guy would kick their asses.

But I agree. Just let these strong athletes do their thing.

  • @TheTrueFortress why do you say im wrong? what am i wrong about. i already said size and strength have a big place in fighting, which is why theres weightclasses. and since when was tim sylvia a legend in mma? give your head a shake. its obvious you dont follow the sport very closely. the guys fairly tough, fought some big names, but now hes just a can. loses to ray mercer a 40 yearold retired out of shape boxer looking for a paycheck

  • @TheTrueFortress size and strength only get you so far. look at lesnar. dominated guys with his size ( and div 1 wrestling abilities) but in my opinion strength is overrated at that level. cain looks like hes barely touched a weight and he was able to easily handle a guy over 260 of solid muscle. i give pudz props for hanging in there, but size and strength and if's and but's wont get you far. that fight came down to alot more then size, and pudz got beat up pretty bad.

  • @OgreMECH I totally agree with you. I don't ever hear anyone talk about how good hockey players would be at golf.

  • @OgreMECH lol, agree with you there m8.

  • Great video, I feel like hitting the gym right now.

  • Question! do girls like guys that big? or do they go for the more lean ripped skinnier guys?

  • @ToxicZombie8606 The bigger guys generally, because they develop a security and confidence that girls find attractive in a man. In high school they all go for the cute lean guy, but after that his arrogance cannot compare with the personal qualities that develop when you push yourself to become a proper strongman.

  • @ToxicZombie8606 Hahaha. Gtfo dude.

  • what song is this

  • @1stringplayer 46 and 2 by tool

  • Good song. I love Tool.

  • this is a bad ass video and the song kicks ass

  • that shit is beast right there

  • damn...

  • he beat zydrunas in the 2010 arnold?

  • what is the name of the song?

  • I am a fan of Derek Poundstone but Mariusz Pudzianowski's performance against Tim Sylvia just showed STRONGMEN ARE NOT GOOD AT MMA!

  • @misteres

You're talking about a total newcomer against a guy who'd been ranked in the top 3 in the world previously, it doesn't show a gorram thing.

  • @Draykid Strongmen are not made for 5 min rounds after 90 seconds of explosive exercise they are physically exhausted as would anyone using the amount of power they do. Pudz has experience in kickboxing( feel free to correct me if im wrong). MMA fighters have started to use strongman training in their regime. But an immediate crossover is not viable for both sports.

  • @misteres

That's a matter of conditioning and as a matter of fact, guys like Ross Enamait and Joe DeFranco who both produce successful athletes through their S&C programs have always utilized a ton of strongman exercises.

  • @misteres

Under the boundaries of strongman training we have all of the following: keg, stone, and sandbag lifting (has always been included in strongman training regimes), car/truck pushing and pulling, farmer's walks, car/truck pushing and pulling, sledgehammer swinging (as a strength or conditioning tool), and single-handed dumbbell work. What do we have there? A list of exercises that Ross and Joe recommend and have their athletes do.

  • @Draykid

The conclusion we get in the end is that strongman exercises, when performed for conditioning rather than maximal weight, are incredibly useful for an athlete.

Furthermore, concerning the length of the rounds: Ross Enamait's and Joe DeFranco's circuits are all quite typically very short and very intense.

The jump from max strength training the strongman way to conditioning is very short: more reps, more intensity, more explosiveness.

  • i saw him in big y once with his wife she is tiny compared to him

  • my favourite strongman.

  • perfect timing with the song droppin as he deadlifts!!

i always wack this ong on before my squats

  • id be afraid to shake his hand

  • holly crap this guy is a monster! wow amazingly strong beast!

  • What's the song? It's not real solution #9

  • @endorphine99 Tool - Forty Six and Two

  • Poundstone is a monster great motivation for my strongman training!

  • They all better watch out, Jason kristal is coming back! stronger than ever!!!

  • bruce lee? wtf? thats a joke right

  • Armbaring someone as big strong as the top strongmen in the world will be almost impossible unless someone just as strong as they are can pull it off. They have FUNCTIONAL strength......there's a huge difference. I'd like to see a former Strongman champion compete in Judo or Jiu Jitsu tournaments.

  • @tbear8550 Unfortunately, you are wrong. Technique is ten times more important than strength in any submission attempt.

  • @tbear8550 5 time worlds strongest man Mariusz Pudizanowski began competing last year in MMA, winning his first fight. i believe he has another schedualed for this summer

  • This is the best video ever!

  • whats this song

  • Poundstone... I can't think of a better last name for a strongman competitor!

  • off to the gym!

  • Good to see everyone else loves watching this before the gym. that being said, i'm off to the gym.

  • GODDEST!

  • That engine from 6:00 sounds sick.

  • What an athlete !!!

  • @Stianlolz

These guys would DOMINATE the NFL and any Fighting sports if they chose to. There is NO ONE in the world like these elite strongmen

they are incomparable as far as size, power, speed, balance , coordination and endurance. You take ANY of these men and put them in an mma ring and they would destroy the competition.

  • "Excuses will ony get you so far in life, you know... it wont get you anywere with me!?"

  • they should show him squeezin someones neck

  • @fwaapo

Fact is Poundstone would DOMINATE mma in the ring

  • @LifeRegenRevolution hes strong he dosnt know how to fight akilees heel lock kimaria lock arm bar lleg bar or a quick right cross would take down dick poundstone in no time

  • @JakeLovesFoils

No hes not just Strong, hes INSANELY strong, there is a difference. Sorry but skinny twigs like Frank ' pencil Neck' Mir is Not going to have any chance taking a man down like Poundstone who has unbelievable core strength and Leg Power.

Fact is ufc and mma fighters have NEVER gotten in the ring with Men like these Pro elite strongmen, thats why PUDZIANOWSKI is kicking ass in the riing and will continue to do so

  • @LifeRegenRevolution yeah but dude if you get bruce lee vs some of these guys it would be close cause bruce lee can fight and hes strong there stronger but can't fight as good you know what i mean and R.I.P bruce lee he was an amazing man but i honestly believe he could kick some ass if he had to fight some of these guys IF!! they had no martial and or fighting experience

  • @lickmyfurrytoes

You have to remember BRUCE LEE was obviously a fantastic Fighter, but the scenes of him taking on 20 tough guys at once and beating them all up easily was pure Fiction, thats NOT reality !

thats why its called a ' movie' and a fantasy, NO ONE could ever do that in the Real world

  • @LifeRegenRevolution haha oh man i know im not sayin bruce lee is a god but 1 V 1 he would have a pretty good shot don't ya think?

  • @LifeRegenRevolution shut up, just about any strongman worth his salt easily weights over 300+ lbs, Bruce Lee was 135, Frank Mir is 240-265, Brock Lesnar is 265, and Fedor is 235 lbs, thisis the equivalant of asking who would win between a 140lb karate master or a 200lb football player, NOBODY GIVES A SHIT!

  • @fakeandgay69

Actually Lesnar cuts down from about 285. He could easily hit a long ways past 300.

  • @Draykid don't think it would be solid muscle

even in that gay WWE shit, the most he ever claimed to be was 295lbs and we should know how inflated those numbers are

  • @fakeandgay69

I'm fairly sure he could hit 300 still being fairly lean. He really does sit at 285 these days, so 295 really isn't a very inflated number, especially since I believe he actually lost weight going into MMA.

  • @Draykid ya in the last metrex worlds strongest man they weighted him in at 315 i think ya but hed have to loose alot of weight and muscle if he wanted to join ufc thats for sure maximum weight is 265 lol

  • @SpawnOfHate666 Don't they ever have super heavy weight bouts?

  • @Draykid or r u talking about brock lesnar?

  • @SpawnOfHate666

Either way is a lot of weight to move around. For Derek though, he'd have to lose about 30 pounds to compete, on top of 20 pounds to cut.

  • @Draykid ya and personally i cant see derek doing mma he just doesnt have the personality and the fighting type additude i cant see this guy beating on anyone to be honest lol ya so he needs to like loose some muscle for sure lol

  • @fwaapo what the fuck... why would you want to see him choke somebody to death?

  • @535635monsters did i say choke someone to death you fucking braindead faggot. get a life
