This in fact reduces the fuel efficiency, as it hasn't been fixed properly. When fixed correctly, it does increase the fuel efficiency of the bike by around 2 Kmpl (well, that's actually when you ride normally)
It works, but it's a wrong way to rig a K&N Air Filter. It must be connected to the air pipe from under the seat. Mine was rigged the same way as yours, but then I had starting trouble at large. Finally got it fixed, and also upjetted the engine. My bike does 127 - 130 Kmph top.
@avihacks - lol dude..my stock bike does 135km/h.....bt it takes a hell loto of time n road...... ;) guess no use of K&N then....etter run on stock....
@fazerrohan : Dude, K&N air filters come in two varieties; Stock replacement, and Performance. Mine's a Performance air filter. So I have the acceleration of 0 - 60 Kmph in well under 4 seconds, and a top speed of almost 130 Kmph too! No stock FZ can outrun my bike on any given road, or in a drag. Go figure! lol ;)
Here's something about the speedometers. They are not accurate and there's a difference of +5 to +10 km speed. Imagine my top speed with a well maintained stock air filter!

puttin the air filter directly is nt a good option for fz better performance if u put it in the slot where air filter is .u will have to squeeze in it but m telling u after i did it my second gear hits 63kmph woot safe ridin bro
wat did u do to the hole in the stock airfilter box after removing the pipe which connects from the stock airfilter to the carb??? did u cover that hole or left it open?

The only thing that i did was to take the pipe out and cover the hole with plastic, everything else is in the same place.
