In Japan, on a rainy day many stores have someone at the enterance putting your wet umbrella in a long thin plastic bag for you, so you don't mess up their store.

That's quick and convenient.

They say in this video that you should stick the umbrella in the device two or three times. It seems to me that this will take much more time than just bagging the umbrella.

Will it catch on in the busy Japanese society? I don't know.
