John 3:16?"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
This guys are amazing! I haven't seen them for about 8 years but I love them!! The bass player is a character!! he does steal the show! If not playing beautifully, he is doing comedy! Good on you guys!
What great music and fantastic entertainment, why have we not seen these guys on telly, where are all the tv scouts (in bed),really enjoyed it,well done for bringing it to us.Bob
Also, I don't get why you're so uptight/defensive about my comments. They're not meant to offend or be like scathling attacks, I was just offering some constructive criticism, in saying try to tidy up the timing of the quintet and sell the CDs at a lower price. If you do that then there's every chance you can get more sales and even get noticed by the right sort of person, and end up on oMusic on Sky or something.
£10 IS a lot for one CD, you can get DVD's of classical performances for £5-6. It's simple economics - sell lots at a low price instead of a few at a high price. Regardless of the motives for busking and playing those pieces, the amount you're charging for one CD is a lot.
I would have donated for the performance if I was there, it was light hearted and enjoyable, I just think the amount for a CD is too much
How dare I call you "not professionals"? Well for a start, you're busking, which isn't the most professional career path. It might take a lot of effort from you to put on the show, but it still isn't professional by definition, the timing wasn't that tight (due to the increase in tempo on the rondo alla turka).
My original point was that I think £10 was a steep price for the CD, there's places where you can get BOTH a score and a professionally produced/recorded CD for about £10.
You are very good guys! But you should not be "Abraxas String Quartet+1" , but "Abraxas String Quartet" , without the guy in the red. He is rude and needs to ease it.
No, I'm holding the camera. Covent Garden is quite simple to find. Just find your way to Knightsbridge, where Harrods and all that is, go east past Piccadilly and follow the sign posts. I always go there when I'm in London as there's always something going on.
I love these guys! seen them a couple of times, if youv'e got a problem with them then you dont have to watch the video or see them perform! you dont even NEED to pay!!
I would gladly donate a lot of money to these guys!
Well, to get some perspective, this was lunchtime on a rather overcast Wednesday in October, and the performers were trying to lighten what could otherwise have been a rather dry performance. Their actions were not malicious and you can plainly hear quite a lot of people were laughing at their antics, especially the bass player's. Ok, their behaviour would have been wholly un-acceptable at the Royal Albert Hall, but at the time it made a very nice interlude to a day out in London.
This is in Covent Garden, these musicians are from Royal College of Music, London, every year there will be a new batch of them playing in Covent Garden.
I saw these guys play in february of this year, they were funnier when i saw em but still always amazing. Ill get the videos i took up one of these days. Do they have a website or something? Also do they change their members? The double bass guy was just as hilarious when i saw them:)
Superb. bloody funny too :)

That's for sure. In the Canon the bassist gets up to all sorts of silly stuff.
Later in the set he twanged a non-payer on the nose with his bow. The other chap was really angry but it was very funny!

Maybe more people would buy a CD if they weren't £10 each...
Man you can get the originals performed by professionals on CD for less than that!
