Does anyone know of any company making or even considering making a Beretta 92fs/M9 .22lr kit? Sure seems like a pretty damn BIG market for them considering how many beretta 92's are being used not only by citizens but police and military too!
P.S. for the Beretta made kit or the ciener p.o.s. kit,see below comment!
Considering the beretta made 92fs .22lr kit has been discontinued (even though there is high demand for it) and we all know about the COUNTLESS problems with ciener (thank god he was jailed) why does no other company make a .22lr kit for the 92fs/M9, Considering the popularity and widespread use of it from police to military to civilians? There are at least a DOZEN companies that make a 1911 .22lr kit so why no beretta 92 kit?
Was very surprised to hear about the failure to extract??? What ammo were you using? I own the 75B Omega and SP-01 and have NEVER had a failure in either weapon in over 10,000 rounds??? Primarily Federal WB FMJ. As you pointed out the beauty of the CZ is the feel...it's a compact feel in a full size auto. Beretta, CZ, Sig...all fantastic...Glock's too..but there's nothing like a full steel frame.
@cobyson100 It definitely wasn't the ammo (WWB, Federal, Ranger, Corbon). It did jam less with hotter ammo but still several times per magazine. Completely unacceptable. It was a faulty extractor spring. CZ shipped me a new spring, and the only malfunction I've had since then was one stovepipe (out of maybe 400 rounds? I've really lost count). My CZ is my favorite gun to shoot next to my SIG p232. I generally shoot SIGs the best, especially the P226 and P228.
@Riflemanm16a2 I wish they'd develop a braided spring and metal guide like Sig but CZ has told me that it was considered in the design and every bit as reliable as the sig over time..???
@goronsrcool Don't hold me to this, but I think it would fit because the 92 and 96 have the same frame (except for older 92's like the one in this video). Beretta makes a better, albeit more expensive, .22 conversion kit as well.
@Riflemanm16a2 Do you think there is any truth to the story about atf/doj investigating beretta accepting money from ciener to discontinue the beretta .22lr kit so ciener would be the only game in town for beretta .22 kits?
@borsaga1 Honestly, the recoil is about the same (maybe a more skilled shooter could tell the difference, but I can't).
The CZ has a great trigger once you break it in (this takes about a year of shooting it though) or if you get a trigger job. The DA mode is pretty gritty when you first get it, but the SA is good out of the box.
@Riflemanm16a2 The Beretta's trigger is smooth, but it does feel weird compared to other guns (the face of the trigger is really wide and flat, it feels kinda like a clarinet reed lol), but once you shoot it for a while, you get used to it.
That said, I have shot another 92FS, which had a slightly rougher trigger though.
I can't really say which one has a better trigger reset. I never really paid attention to that.
@Cybrok If I had a CZ that didn't have so many quirks(AKA problems), I would prefer the CZ. The CZ has better ergonomics and an extra round in the stock magazines (Although you can get flush 18 rounders for the Beretta), and it's a bit smaller. I also tend to shoot the CZ better on average.
On the other hand, I've never had a problem with the Beretta, so my confidence in it is higher.
@Riflemanm16a2 I also forgot to mention that you can't put night sights on the Beretta (well, it cost a lot if you do because they have to drill the sights) because they are not removable.
I think the main disadvantage of this pistol is in the form of the slide. Of course open barrel cools faster, but u cant cock the gun with a sport grip (sorry if my english is terrible), I mean u cant normally hold the slide by it's forward part, cause it's quite thin. And if u hold it by it's backward part - the safety turns on.
I think this pistol isn't good for sports at all.
But it's beautiful, many people in russia dream about this pistol in traumatic version.
@asznam I 100% agree with you. It is rather clunky (not very streamlined). I have had the problem of turning the safety on when chambering a round myself. I think the original design had a frame mounted safety but was later changed to a slide mounted version. It is a nice looking gun, and it shoots pretty well too.
@Riflemanm16a2 In Russia we have a traumatic gun - an adaptation of Slovakian K-100 for rubber bullets (it's usually used for sports). And it has the same problems with the safety. It's mounted to the frame but it's too easy to turn on (but doesn't decock the gun). Some shooters turn the safety on even while shooting or taking the pistol out of the holster. That's why the just remove the safety lever (i hope it's the right word) :)
@knightnvy The only ambidextrous feature is the safety/decocker, which does add quite a bit of width to the slide, but I think I was referring more to the grip in the video..
@knightnvy I didn't know about the mag release. The gun ejects rounds out of the right side, not the left, which doesn't really provide a benefit either way. The only pistols I know of that eject to the left are the Walther P5 and P38/P1. Or did you just mean it's ambidextrous because the chamber can be checked easily from both sides?
@Riflemanm16a2 The ejection port is also ambidextrous it actually ejects directly up not to the left or the right, the trigger is wide so that it can fit the pad of your finger from either side.
My beretta 92 jammed the same way your CZ did with the FTEs. I replaced the extractor, extractor pin and spring and its been 100% reliable ever since. If your still have problems it might be worth giving that a try
@thehulkliveson I'm glad you got your 92 working. I replaced the extractor spring, but not the extractor itself. I went about 10 months without a jam. It stovepiped last weekend. But that's a different malfunction, so it probably has a different cause. The weird part was that I performed a "tap-rack" to clear the jam, and I got a double feed instead. I think maybe the top round popped out of the feed lips when I struck it, so it tried to feed that round and the one under it. I'm not sure though.
The beretta fits really well in my hand and other then that extraction problem its been good to me. Now as for shooting, i suck with it. At 7-10 yards im lucky if i can keep a 6" group. Whereas if im shooting a revolver or my ruger 22/45 I can make a 3" - 4" group. Still far from perfect but with only 2 years experience im ok with that
@thehulkliveson I used to be the same way. I preferred revolvers to autos because I was more accurate with them. I hardly shoot revolvers anymore. I'm not great at making groups with any gun. I find it easier to shoot reactive targets, like steel plates or pop cans. For some reason, it's easier for me to hit an actual thing than a circle on a piece of paper. But I've found that Shoot-n-see targets are VERY beneficial because you can see where each shot hit right after you've pulled the trigger.
@Riflemanm16a2 I forgot to ask you about the .22lr conversion kit for the beretta. How is it accuracy and reliability wise?? Up here in canada it cost about $750 for the one made by beretta with the adjustable sights and safety-decocker. So if you can give me some feedback it would be much appreciated. thanks
@thehulkliveson I saw a vid on the Beretta kit, and it looks a lot nicer. My Ciener kit is decent for the money though. The sights are fixed like the 9mm slide; they also don't have dots. The accuracy is good. I think I had a bit of trouble connecting with it last time, but every other time it has been excellent. Reliability-wise, I've had two failures to feed out of about 500 rounds, not bad for a .22lr. The slide didn't jam; there just wouldn't be a round it the chamber when I tried to fire.
My new bd was perfect. My bd went through 120 rounds with zero FTF or FTE. Only use brass cartridges. No aluminum ones. Great with 124 grain and 147 grain Winchester WB, S&B, Federal American, Gold Dots. My bd gave me so much confidence.
Hey sucks about your CZ, Mines been 100% reliable for over 2000 rounds. CZ was also my first gun purchase. I am however really wanting a Beretta 92fs.
@jermz999 CZ sent me a new extractor spring, I dropped it in, and now it seems to be running just fine. The 92FS is a great gun, especially if you get the 18 round mec-gar magazines (flush fitting).
Lol! I know; I still love CZ, but my confidence is shaken. It was literally a jam-o-matic, even after I sent it back to the factory. They sent me a new Wolff extractor spring, and it seems to have stopped the jamming, but I'll have to test it more before I bet my life on it. I think I need to get some new mag springs too. It occasionally hangs up while feeding. For now I carry my Walther: only problem I've had with it is 1 light strike out of maybe 250 rounds.
It was jamming with everything: Federal, Remington UMC, and even Winchester Ranger ammo (and maybe winchester white box too). It actually started jamming every other shot the next time I shot it. I contacted CZ, and they did some gun smithing which didn't help the problem. I contacted them again, and they sent me a new extractor spring, which seems to have cured the problem.
I think they only make ten round mags because its more realistic with how many rounds it would trully hold and if you get another clip makes reload practice possible.
I would agree except that the normal capacity is 15 +1 (unless the user is in a nazi state like Calif or Mass. that only allows 10 round mags) and the slide doesn't lock back after the last round, so reloading would be different from standard 9mm reloading drills.
Well that is a valid point. I do hate the fact that they dont make them to lock back after the last shot but there is some speed training that could be pulled out of it I suppose.
Yeah, for all intents and purposes, they are the same gun. There are some very, very minor differences between the M9 and 92FS, some of which the game does not accurately depict (like dot-the-i sights instead of three dot).
Overall great review of the M92FS, I've had this gun for the better part of a year and you covered all my likes and dislikes. I modded the hell out of mine though.
I'd say it's more a subjective issue than it is a bias. I have nothing against it. I only said so because it is a common complaint, and honestly it's one of the bulkiest grip I've felt in the plethora of handguns I've handled/shot. But again, I still like the gun a lot and find it to be a good shooter.
Thats true, bad word choice on my part, and it is bulky, but thats good for some people, whos hands are too big for most other handguns, unless they buy aspecial grip for the gun

Hi. In your opinion, some questions. (thanks for the answers)
- which of those has less recoil?
-which has better trigger? more smooth.
I ve a doubt between those two pistols, so i going to buy one of them.
Thanks and regards.
