Some of the documents from the time of Joshua, at least, survived and they are written in a form of Celtic script---so I think we are just talking about very tall and quite short people, comparing Celts to PIcts, for instance. The thing that seems to miss these scholars is that the Holy Bible is the information that God has called most essential for Salvation, for Jews and for Gentiles. Of course, there are other writings that are true, but to act like there has been corruption in keeping Enoch or other books out of the Bible is not true. A book like Enoch, which is not essential for the knowledge of Salvation, can be seen as a distraction from the essential and inspired message.

A much more likely explanation would be visitors or beings from another place.
